they work together to achieve shared goals

Processes that Effect Power to Control Territory
• Ability to control territory is
dependent on access to
resources (and moving them)
• Examples: energy sources,
human capital, labor,
development, technology and
favorable geography.
Oil exports are virtually the only source
of foreign revenue for landlocked South
Sudan.
Processes that Effect Power to Control Territory
• Favorable geography =
easy movement of
products and people. (not
so easy for South Sudan)
• Conflict/war results
around the arising need
for access to resources.
