1. Why did Octavian change his name to Augustus?
He wanted to be in a high rank because Octavian sounds ordinary.

Yes, Augustus sounds like a good emperor. During his reign Rome had a long period of
peace and stability. The empire grew to its greatest size. They built many ways to connect
the large empire.
4. List 3 major accomplishment of Augustus during his rule.
A. He began a civil service.
B. He replaced old brick structures with marble ones.
C. Under him Rome’s army became the most powerful fighting force in the world.
5. Define Pax RomanaPax Romana means roman peace. During that time Rome had a great time of prosperity and
peace. Their trade flourished and they had less rebels.
