What is the purpose of the Respiratory
system?
The respiratory system exchange gases between the
body and the environment.
The system removes carbon dioxide from the body and
provides it with oxygen.
Inhaling and exhaling causes the lungs to expand and
deflate. This process is known as respiration.
The continual exchange of gasses is essential for life.
