Vine Grove Elementary The Mission of the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP™) is to advance individual capabilities; to motivate all students; and to create leadership opportunities through the use of technology. Goal 1 The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social and emotional growth of the student. Students participated in the STLP Cards for Service Program which raised money for veterans who were being deployed overseas. Goal 2 STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students Students sign up for STLP by student application, teacher recommendation, and student interest. STLP meets before school and during the school day. Goal 2 The STLP will provide leadership opportunities for all students. The Vine Grove news team produces a live weekly news broadcast for the school .STLP members serving on the news crew arrive in the library before school starts to prepare for the show. News is presented for our school as well as announcements from the community. The crew consists of students from all grade levels , with older students training younger students. Student directors work with students of varying technological skill levels to create continually add to and enhance existing skills. The Vine Grove Elementary news broadcasts provides a forum for community events ranging from food drives, festivals, parades, and other happenings in the northern Hardin County. Goal 1 The STLP will develop activities which enhance the academic, social, and emotional growth of the student. Students at Vine Grove assist teachers by starting up the computer labs and shutting them down. They also clean around the computers and straighten the computer labs at the end of the day. Students at VGES turn on the computers in the labs or the library in the mornings and turn them off in the afternoons. Goal 5 The STLP will develop activities which benefit communities. The Second Grade Service Project group created and sold greeting cards. Proceeds from the cards were used to buy international calling cards for deployed parents for students at VGES. Picture taken by STLP student Vine Grove Elementary students take pictures of various activities at school, such as special class presentations, guest speakers, and award winners. They also videotape the spelling bee, morning show, and assemblies. VGES STLP students created a flyer to promote their greeting cards. Flyer created to sell greeting cards STLP students are working with the Math RTI teacher to create a PhotoStory starring students who have successfully met math goals. 9 VGES students attended the WKU Fall Showcase 4 VGES students participated in the WKU Fall Showcase Will participate in the district showcase Sample New Projects for next year including: Photography and Videos. VGES will continue to include more students and faculty in our STLP group. VGES will promote the good news about our school more actively and involve more technology in the articles.
