Charles was sent to a boys school Mother wanted nothing to do with him. Started living on the streets and doing petty crimes. In 1955 when he married a 17 year old girl and moved with her to California. In 1952, Charles spent most of his 17 years in and out of jail. By 1956 his estranged wife had left with their child and her new lover. Crimes: From 1958, Manson was in and out of jail for a variety of offenses including 'pimping' and passing stolen checks. He was sent to McNeil Island prison in Washington State for ten years. During this time he had also raped a fellow male prisoner while brandishing a razor. He was released in March of 1967 The first victims on the August 9, 1969 were guests at Roman Polanski's Beverley Hills home. Manson instigated another killing spree, this time at the home of wealthy couple Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary. 18-year-old Steven Parent who was a friend of Tate's gardener was shot as he just happened to walk down the drive and noticed the intruders. The trial began on July 24, 1970. On January 25, Manson was found guilty of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. On March 29, 1971, Manson was sentenced to death; but it was reprieved from the death penalty in 1972. Charles Manson Through the Years Theory: Charles Manson is an extremely messed up person. He would order his “family” to murder people he didn’t like. He killed in one of the most inhuman and painful ways. He would have his men stab the victims. No-one really suspected him until he had some “family trouble”. Not only did he have a messed up mind, he also had a messed up childhood. As a child he was never wanted. His mother sent him away to a boarding school. He would always try to come home to her and she would just take off. Therefore he had no one to turn to for anything.
