OUR SPEAKERS: “The Ricks”
Rick Holland
Rick was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and became a Christian in high school. He served as a youth pastor in
Georgia, MI, and California and spent 25 years at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, CA. While at Grace he pastored
Crossroads, the college and singles ministry, and served as the executive pastor under Dr. John MacArthur. In 2005, Rick
founded the Resolved Conference, a ministry that called a new generation to live lives of serious devotion to Jesus Christ. Rick
is the author of Uneclipsing the Son (Kress Bilical Resources, 2011) and has contributed to chapters in other books as well as
articles in theological journals. He regularly teaches at The Master's Seminary and is on the faculty of The Expositor's
Seminary. Currently, Rick is Pastor of Mission Road Bible Church in Prairie Village, KS. He and his wife, Kim, have three sons:
Luke, John and Mark.
Rick Goertzen
Early in his life Rick knew he wanted to serve the Lord in ministry. He has served at churches in Alabama, Louisiana, California
and Kansas, and has taught numerous times in Russia, Brazil and Zimbabwe. For almost 19 years, Rick has been serving at
Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson, KS and they host the Ignite Conference each fall where high school students from the
Midwest come to hear speakers who will encourage their growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus, igniting a passion for
what God's Word says. Rick regularly teaches at Sterling College and has founded an exciting ministry for college students,
CORE, which aims to establish the foundational CORE of Christ in the believer through the preaching and applying of God's
Word. He has been married to his wife, Kris, for 30 years, and they have three grown children.
Worship
will be led by The Master's College Chapel Band Although the band
members came from diverse backgrounds, they were brought together at The Master's
College with one goal: to provide God-centered music and lead worship during chapel
three times a week. We are excited that they will be leading us in worship at Ascend
Camp.
