Please include plans with 1. Positions of heat sources and preferred manifold locations 2. Joist directions of timber floors 3. Joints
and fire doors not to be crossed 4. Sensitive floors needing floor sensors and floor coverings if known. Please highlight any
preferences for system, pipe and fittings. Unless specified we will allow for heating under kitchen units, baths, w.c. and showers.
Please include heat loss information to help us optimise project designs. Reduce pipe wastage by using Uponor De-coilers and
large pipe coils.
Please email requests to projects.uk@uponor.com together with heat loss calculations and plans in DWG/ DXF or PDF format.

Floor types
Solid Screed floor – Kombi Clip fixings
-
Stapled clips hold Uponor
pipe work securely to insulation.
16mm PEX, 20mm PEX and 16mm MLCP
pipe options available.
Complete flexibility for laying optimum pipe
Patterns.
Maximum output 100W/m2.
Timber suspended floor – Heat Emission Plates
- Aluminium trays fixed between the joists distribute heat
evenly away from the UFH pipe work.
400mm Joist centre options with PEX 16 and MLCP 16 pipe.
300mm and 411mm centre options using PEX 20 pipe. CrossBattening can accommodate other joist spacings.
- There should be no air gap between floors and trays, trays
and insulation for efficient heat transfer.
- A small gap should be left between plates to allow for their
expansion.
- Maximum output 70W/m2
-
Solid floor – Self Attaching System
- SAS offers a tool free fixing method that allows one individual
to lay a heating system in half the time of traditional systems.
- ‘Hook and loop’ technology for easy laying and repositioning
of pipe simplifies the most complicated of heating layouts.
- Integrated fixings across the pipe and insulation ensures
a high retention force for robust installation.
- Unique 16mm PEX system
- Maximum output 100W/m2
Floating Floor
- Can be laid over almost any existing floor surface. It is
an ideal system for retrofitting UFH, or as an
alternative to screeded floors.
- 15mm/ 30mm and 50mm thick insulation options.
- Additional insulation may be required on some ground floor
installations to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
- Maximum output 70W/m2
RFQ-R1.3
Fixed Plywood Panels
- A system with an ultra low profile of only 13mm, using
grooved plywood panels bonded to aluminium heat plates.
- Can be laid on almost any existing floor surface. It is
an ideal system for retrofitting UFH, or as an
alternative to screeded floors.
- Additional insulation may be required on some ground floor
installations to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
- Maximum output 70W/m2

Water Temperature Controls
Control Pack HTG V5
- A compact, all-in-one solution for controlling Underfloor
-
heating flow rates and water temperature.
“A” rated energy efficient Wilo 6m pumps for low running
costs.
Control Packs are available in sizes from 2-port to
8-port. Separate manifolds range from 2-port to 12-port.
They are capable of supplying areas up to 150m2 at
100W/m2.
Underfloor heating systems can be made up of multiple
control packs, in central positions to supply heating loops
efficiently.
PPG-30
-
Mixes variable water temperature to manifolds for
heating and cooling.
-
External Weather Compensation Control intelligently
balances the water temperatures based upon changing
external climates and user demand.
“A” rated energy efficient Wilo 8m pumps for low running
costs of large areas.
More than one manifold can be supplied by a single unit if
the floor constructions are the same for installation savings.
-
-
VPG-10 with Actuator/ PPG-20
- Mixes a fixed water temperature to manifolds.
- “A” rated energy efficient Wilo 6m pumps for low running
costs.
- VP-10 rated for 15KW.
- PPG-20 rated for 20KW and compatible with Climate
Controller for intelligent variable mixing.
- Can be installed directly to manifolds, at angles or
separate to the manifolds, giving greater flexibility in
awkward spaces.
None – Water temperature controls supplied by others
-
For example when being served directly by a
controlling heat pump.
PPG-30 rated for 30KW
The Radio Controller (room controls) and Climate Controller
(water controls) are designed to work side by side.
Installation wizard simplifies setup.
RFQ-R1.3
Heat Source
Please let us know what types of heat source will be used on your project.
Heat source examples include boiler, solar, wood pellet, air-source heat pump and ground source heat pump.
With heat pumps the water temperature control is supplied by others unless specifically requested. In these cases we
recommend the Uniset controllers for lower temperature requirements. Please ensure the heat pump is rated to
efficiently handle 40-45®C supply temperatures for screed and 50-55®C for timber floors with your project.
Notes
Please let us know of any project areas requiring special attention, key preferences or information that may help refine
your Underfloor heating.
