In that you are far more skilled Latinists than our editor, Marcus Balme, would like to believe, he needn’t have watered down Petronius’ original text of the Satyricon so much. So, we shall right his wrong and re-write his simplistic Latin constructions into far more preferable Latin prose.
Below you will find several sentences and/or clauses from The Millionaire’s
Dinner Party. You are asked to take the given sentences and re-form them into the requested construction. Chapter and line references are in parentheses. You must look at the entire sentence in context to garner all the information you will need to do this.
You may use your books, your notes, and your dictionaries. You may not use each other nor may you use me as a resource. That’s right: you’re on your own.
Here’s a hint: your first course of action should be to determine what kind of construction is used in the existing text, what it’s “ingredients” are, and how and which of those ingredients can be manipulated to form the requested construction.
