BILL DANIEL’S LESSON PLANS
Attendance sheets are in the teal folder
WEDNESDAY- FRIDAY
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON ARE MY TEACHER WEBSITE
(WWW.FLORIDASTUDENTSAVES.ORG) FOR THE STUDENTS TO SEE
Each period, there are students assigned to the credit union. Since the credit union is closed
currently, I have been allowing the students to go to the law library. However, for this week, I have
instructed them to come to the classroom to make it easier on you. Please allow them to sit on a
computer if they are available and to use the period as if it were a study hall.
My class roll sheets are on my desk in a teal folder. The students that are with me have already
been marked in each period.
1st Period – Accounting Applications I (23 Students)/Credit Union (3 Students)
I have left a 5-day Survival Guide that can be found on the class web page. The file is a Word document and
clearly presents the main information in the first half of chapter 6 – accounting for merchandising companies.
The students have already started the study guide, working in it on Monday & Tuesday. They are to continue
to read the notes on the various journal entries explained in the chapter. After each section, there are practice
exercises that they must complete. The answers to these exercises can be found on my Edmodo homepage (I
know, in order to be a teacher these days, you must be a webmaster). Please allow the students to use the
computers and to work in small groups (no more than 3) to complete the exercises. The exercises are in the
textbook. Some students prefer to use the online textbook instead of bringing their book to class.
2ND Period – AP Microeconomics (12 Students)/Credit Union (3 Students) – Beige Folder
Please hand each student a previously released AP Micro exam that is in the binder clip marked “Wednesday &
Thursday.” The students may elect to work alone or in groups and are expected to complete questions 1-30 on
Wednesday & 31-60 on Thursday. The students are not allowed to use the computer. At the end of each day,
they will need to turn everything back into to you. If they need a little extra time on Friday, that is permissible.
However, by the close of Friday’s class, each student is required to submit the assignment to you for
evaluation. The first question begins with “Improvements in technology for producing all goods must result in”.
The students are to put all of their answers on the answer sheet and ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WRITE ON THE
ACTUAL EXAM ITSELF. When the students submit their assignment for final evaluation, please separate the
answers from the exams. Also, please reiterate to the students that this is not a test and, as a result, there is
no reason to try and cheat. The activity is meant to provide them with a good barometer of where they are at
in the course with 5 months to go.
On Friday, please give each student the second previously released exam (Question #1 – Opportunity cost is
defined as”. Once again, please inform the students that they are to place their answers on the answer sheet
and that THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WRITE ON THE ACTUAL EXAM ITSELF. All students will be expected to
turn this assignment into me on Monday and are allowed to take it home with them to complete it. If students
finish their Wednesday/Thursday assignment early (which I doubt that they will), please do not give them
Friday’s assignment.
3rd Period – AP Microeconomics (14 Students)/Credit Union (3 Students) – Teal Folder
The instructions for 3rd period are the same as 2nd period’s instructions.
4th Period – Credit Union (1 Student)
5th Period – Teacher Planning (0 Students)/Credit Union (2 Students) 6th Period – Financial Planning (15 Students)/Credit Union (1 Student)
The 15 students are currently working in their Home Buying unit. Within this unit, they have been broken up
into 4 teams and are working to create a magazine on “How to Buy a Home.” The teams are:
Team 1: Luke Magley, Thomas Verzi, Hannah Schafer, Alayna Mole, Matthew Fluke
Team 2: Diana Bronson, Victoria Verzi, Kristen Recker, James Payne, Riley Bell
Team 3: Matthew Davilla, Katie Dingman, Rylee Witherington, Hueston Duff, Nathan Haskins
Each group is to use the teacher web page and specifically www.michaelbluejay.com/house for research
purposes. As part of the project, each group is to create a Quizlet activity using the terms that were provided
to them in class.
7th Period – Finance & Business Technology (21 Students)/Credit Union (2 Students)
The students are to spend the next 3 days working in their Learning Microsoft Excel workbooks. They are to
specifically complete the following exercises:
1. Excel 10 Step-by-Step
2. Excel 10 Own Your Own
3. Excel 11 Step-by-Step
4. Excel 11 Own Your Own
5. Excel 12 Summary
6. Excel 13 Challenge
Should they finish these 6 assignments, please encourage them to move to Excel 14 Step-by-Step and Own
Your Own. The students may use the computers and are to work individually. If you would like, you may turn
the radio on while they are working. This is strictly up to you. I do this often when I give them an Excel work
day. The only rule is that there is not to be any singing or dancing. It’s meant to replicate an office
environment. Once again, please do not allow the students to work together. One potential problem is that
Kiara Zambrana broke her CD last week. The CD holds all of the data for the exercises. If I have not been able
to burn a new data disk for her, she will have to borrow Grace Easterling’s disk to load the some of the
assignments. They both sit in front of the board.
PLEASE HAVE EACH CLASS PLACE THEIR CELL PHONES ON THE MAT EACH PERIOD.
PLEASE LOCK THE DOOR WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN THE CLASSROOM. MY PEERS IN THE HALLWAY CAN ASSIST
YOU WITH THIS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A KEY.
STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PRINT WHILE I AM AWAY, NOR ARE THEY ALLOWED INTO MY BACK
CLOSET.
TO EVERYONE, HAVE A WONDERFUL 3 DAYS!
