2016 Holiday Boccia Tournament Event Programme Allan Brewster Centre Papatoetoe, Auckland Saturday 23 – Sunday 24 January Overview The Cerebral Palsy Society Holiday Boccia Tournament is a fun entry-level Boccia tournament open to anyone. It is a social, yet competitive, pairs tournament in which players are assigned a partner and given a handicap similar to golf. We would appreciate any assistance, so if any supporters are available to assist please let us know. Rules of play The 2016 Cerebral Palsy Society Holiday Boccia Tournament shall be performed in accordance with the BISFed Boccia Rules (Latest Edition) with some modifications to these rules (see below). Certain situations may arise that have not been covered within this manual. The head referee’s decision is final – no protests allowed. It is the responsibility of each athlete participating in the 2016 Cerebral Palsy Society Holiday Boccia Tournament to ensure that all competitors and staff are familiarised with these regulations. Special rules There will be no tie-breaks. There will be no call room – players must be at their court in time for the start of their match (only exception is if the pair is still playing or permission). BC3 assistants may watch the match once their player has played all their balls. If there is a reserve, the reserve must play at least 2 ends in each match. Competition Structure Pools Finals and playoffs • 2 pools of 7 • Round-robin of matches • Pools Cross Over • Final Placing matches To determine the final position of pairs in a pool once all round-robin matches have been played, the following criteria will be applied: (1) Matches won (2) Points difference (3) Points for (4) Points against If any pairs are in equal position after one criterion has been applied, the following criteria will be used until pairs have been separated. Results All results will be published on the Cerebral Palsy Society’s website www.cpsociety.org.nz at the conclusion of the event. Noise As experienced in International Competitions, spectators are encouraged to make noise. Please loudly support your team-mates and friends. Lunches and Refreshments Lunches for players and assistants will be available at the venue from approximately midday each day during competition. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits will be available also. Please endeavour to keep the eating area clean and be considerate of others. Photos Photos will be taken throughout the duration of the event. If you do not wish for photos of you to be published, please let us know. Social Media Results and photos will be published on the Cerebral Palsy Society of New Zealand Facebook page www.facebook.com/cpsocietynz post the event.
