Entry 2008 Report Background The entry 2008 questionnaire was circulated online via the pre-enrolment portal during 20 August 2008 to 16 September 2008. The questionnaire was combined with the expectations 2008 questionnaire. The survey was completed by new undergraduate students during enrolment in 2008, 471 questionnaires were submitted from a total of 3021, resulting in return rate of 15.6%. Unfortunately the questionnaire wasn`t available for the duration originally planned due to hardware issues and this will have had an impact on the response rate. The aim of the questionnaire was to gather information on how satisfied respondents were with the information they received, and to gather information on clearing and RoPA students. Profile of Applicants: 59% of respondents were aged 21 or under. Of these 83% had joined through the UCAS main scheme, 11% Clearing, 4% were late applicants and 2% had joined via other methods. Figure 1: Respondents by age group over 21 41% under 21 59% 1 The majority of respondents were local with 27% from Bradford and 24% from Yorkshire. Of all the clearing applicants 69.5% had applied through UCAS prior to entering the clearing procedure. 67% of clearing candidates had applied to the University of Bradford initially via the UCAS scheme. Of the 33% that hadn’t applied to Bradford the, most common reasons were, preferred other universities, preferred other courses and the university did not offer my first choice of course. Less common factors were entry requirements too high, entry requirements too low. These results need to be treated with caution due to the numbers responding to this section. A list of universities and courses initially applied to via UCAS for clearings students are listed in Appendix 1. 47.4% of clearing respondents had used the clearing helpline. They rated the clearing helpline highly: Figure 5: Clearing Helpline ratings Very good: 61.1% Good: 25.0% Average: 11.1% Poor: 0.0% Very poor: 2.8% 4 39% of clearing respondents contacted other universities during clearing, demonstrating that clearing is a competitive event. However, the vast majority thought that we responded as quickly as other universities: Figure 6: How quickly did the University of Bradford respond to your query? Much quicker 27% Quicker 38% Same 24% Slower 6% Much slower 5% Mainly clearing applicants found out about vacancies via the university website (56.6%) or UCAS (30.3%). Late Applicants (ROPA) A full list of reasons for applying to the University of Bradford late as a RoPA applicant is detailed in figure 8 below, and includes: changing their mind about going to university, awaiting results, swapping courses and changing universities. Figure 8: Reasons for applying as a RoPA to the University of Bradford If you applied as a late applicant, please state why you decided to apply late, rather than through the main UCAS scheme? Applied for postgraduate and was rejected from 1st choice so applied to Bradford Applied through clearing as the entry requirements for my first choice of course was too high as I did not attain the required grades. Because I’m a mature student who made the decision to apply direct to the university. Came to open day and was encouraged to apply didn’t know what course to choose I applied last year and had to defer for the year to have my baby. I applied late because I didn’t get the A-level results that I wanted and could get on to the course that I wanted to do therefore I had to choose an alternative course. I applied late because I needed to know my grades. I did not know about MBA course in your school I had initially applied for MSc, but I found out later that I am not eligible to apply for Msc as I have an ordinary degree and need to complete honours. I know what I want. Why should I go through UCAS and knock on different doors in hope that someone would take me, when I can apply to you direct? I transferred from a previous university I used company in my country which handles applications for students. I was planning to take a gap year. However what I had initially planned did not go through. When I received my results for my A levels, my Sixth from co-ordinator had advised me to go through clearing rather than waste a year. No idea. Just so. Some decisions a mind couldn't take come from heart... or stomach - sometimes I mistake one for the other. This year I had a baby in March, and so obviously university was not a consideration for me whilst I was pregnant, or shortly after her birth. However, she died unexpectedly and suddenly, and after a couple of months I decided I would never have an opportunity like this again - where I am (sadly) childless, and so able to attend university easily. I started looking with a 2009 start in mind, and found my ideal course - IHS. I then discovered that although I had missed the official deadline I could still apply as a late applicant for 2008. I phoned the department to see if IHS was up for Clearing, and it was! So I decided to take the plunge and apply. 6 All Applicants – Satisfaction with information received Respondents were asked what brought the University of Bradford to their attention. The most common reason was finding out through Students/friends/family at 23.6% followed by University Prospectus (16%) and University website (13.2%). A full list of responses as to what brought the University of Bradford to the applicant’s attention is detailed in Appendix 2. They were then asked to rate each of the information sources selected on the following factors: whether the source was informative, inviting, useful and the right media for the university to use. Rows which have been shaded should be treated with caution due to low numbers. Numbers have been shown in red in the category column. Other open-ended comments on whether the course influenced their decision to come to university are shown in appendix 3. This research suggests that the UCAS process is more important for the university than other modes of entry, with 83% of respondents applying through UCAS. 69.5% of clearing entrants also used the UCAS process initially. There is a need to collate and report on the percentage of students that enter through clearing each year. This will provide a definitive picture of how important the clearing process is to the university, and how dependent the university is on it. This should be examined each year, and also be available by department, to inform School marketing plans and activities. Clearing respondents who applied through UCAS (33%) initially did not apply to the University of Bradford. The list in appendix 1 shows that many had applied to other courses within the University of Bradford itself but were not offered places (reasons not stated). However many have not even considered the University of Bradford, This is a problematic group to market to, as they have not considered the university in the UCAS cycle, and so have not enquired and we do not posses their contact details. The University of Bradford needs to increase its visibility at key UCAS decision-making times, possibly through building contacts with schools, direct mail or advertising on the UCAS website (also providing information to parents - as this research suggested students/family and friends was an important source in influencing their decision to come to university). The internet is the most widely used tool to find out about clearing vacancies (University and UCAS website in particular). Although the majority of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the information provided by the university, a number had suggested being dissatisfied, a key area was information provided on accommodation. The main reason RoPA applicants apply late is as they are waiting for results, change their mind about their plans, or swap current universities or courses. 14 Appendix 1 If you applied through the main UCAS scheme, which universities, and courses did you initially apply to/for? After viewing the universities which did the pharmacy course the reputation of Bradford University influenced my decision After viewing the website I listed the UoB on top of my choices in UCAS Along with the prospectus I used the internet. Both media extremely influenced my decision Although the person who referred me wasn’t the most convincing person in the world, I could see where he was coming from. Having been there and done that, I would trust a student’s opinion more than anything else. as a local I was under false impression that the university of Bradford was a university lowly rated which I discovered was a massive untruth Being informative is one of the most important features of any academic programme, I think. This and the transparency it causes affected my decision very much. I rate this factor higher than even academic reputation( which was also very important to me) when deciding which programme to choose. Bradford is the closest university to where I currently live. So it was convenient for me. Father works in optometry; a lot of his clients highly recommended the university. firstly you choose the course then look for a feel of the university Firstly, it was really a question of practical logistics. Secondly, the department and further opportunities for development. Great oppornities for EU students I also liked somewhere which was close to home to save me some money on costs as I can live at home instead of rented accommodation I also ordered the prospectus, but it’s nice is the website is easy to navigate and has a universal "look" I came to know about the pharmacy course at Bradford university from a friend of mine who has already completed the pharmacy course and has already attained various degrees of experience under his belt. He provided me with information on the pharmacy course at this university which persuade me to apply to this university. 20 I chose Bradford initially due to location and I am a lone parent but when I came to the open day, I just knew I wanted to study there! I come from Bradford, its only right I get my qualifications at Bradford University! I didn't know of what are the ways of getting into medicine, and they pointed Bradford out with clinical sciences. I feel as though I had already made a decision based on open days etc. I got details about Bradford's ranking as well as other information which influenced my choice I GOT VERY MUCH INFLUENCED AFTER RECEIVING COURSE DETAILS FROM THE UNIVERSITY THROUGH THE INTERNET I had been searching for a course like Clinical Sciences all year and nearly fell off my seat when I found it! I had to come and see for myself ....open days are very helpful I had to make a decision between Bradford and Leeds Universities, and chose Bradford after a college visit and an invite to an open day. I liked the atmosphere at Bradford and the tutors for the course I wished to take immediately. I have chosen the above answer as I feel the Prospectus was detailed enough and overloaded with unnecessary information. I live in Bradford, Living at home and travelling 20 - 30 minutes to a university is easier than moving away and having the challenge of getting to know the area the University and then start your studies ( too many things on your mind) I looked at the list on Ucas to find where I could study then used internet to research the ones available to me. My real choice came after I came to an open day. I met Mrs. kleinhenz from Germany on a fair in Berlin. The information I got was helpful and her support was just great!! I researched the university and checked it on the league table compared to other universities. I think Bradford is a nice and beautiful place to go for International Students who want to see wonderful sceneries and to know different cultures. I used the website to find out entry requirements for my course and also contact details of the head of Administrations. I used UCAS to narrow down a selection of courses and universities that suited me best and then attended open days to narrow down my choices further I wanted to go to a university that was close to home and Bradford ticked that box I was already hoping to go to Bradford University. Reading the prospectus simply confirmed my decision. 21 I was impressed with the diversity of the university and the way you embrace mature students. I was looking for a specific program. My choice of University was based solely on the program in Archaeological Sciences which Bradford offers. I was looking for the Animation course and seeing what people were doing as projects confirmed my ambitions. I was told that the university is good and that the staff are friendly and helpful. I wasn't planning on going to University at all until I found the animation course at Bradford I'd always wanted to study Archaeology and the University Of Bradford seemed the better place to study it. I'd rather not move from Bradford. Interaction with the Alumni network and online B school ratings helped me to take the decision. It did influence me to come to the university because it had lots of information on my course and the informatics department. It did not make my decision final but made me aware of the services and courses at the university which I had not expected. It provided me with entry requirement information and also contact details of Administrations tutors which was very useful. It was the last step bur one to my final decision. IT WAS THE OPEN DAY THAT INFLUENCED ME it would be better to study in my hometown where I knew where everything was and how o get around liked it when I visited, which topped the balance. MBA Graduate who recommended the Bradford School of Management. The locality to has played a big part Media played important role that shaped my understanding about this varsity but most importantly what I really need and the relevance of Bradford can offer to me (discipline and contemporary) especially for my future career and benefits later. Msc Finance is a pure Finance course while other universities are offering courses like Msc Finance and accounting/financial institution etc My best friend has had a really positive experience of all aspects of the course and the university. My cousin came to the university and received a first class honours My cousin received a first class honours from Bradford MY ELDER SISTER,SHE SIMPLY SAID FROM WHAT SHE HEARD ON GOOD 22 INFO,BRADFORD HAD A GOOD LEARNING ENVIROMENT,AND THE KNOWLEDGE IMPACTED ACTUALLY WORKS FOR YOU My friend encouraged me in my choice in Bradford univ School of Pharmacy at the time, claiming that It is the best in the UK. My friend has just completed a social work course and she said how friendly and helpful the university of Bradford is, she said how much she has enjoyed her time here and thinks I would like it as well. My influence was my friends and family as they encouraged me my sisters studied at Bradford, and had very positive experiences, so this influenced my decision to study here. my teacher recommended this university to me, by saying it is one of the best for pharmacy... My teachers were useful in terms of giving me information about the university but the internet allowed me to get further information about the university. No other University seemed to be as appealing, it makes the reader feel welcome even though they aren't there yet. Not many places offer the course within a reasonable travelling distance, so the listing on the BPS website was influential. I also knew from this that the course would be one that gives accreditation for the BPS. Of course it influenced my decision, because I was looking for university around or in Leeds, and I found out that there are not only two universities in Leeds, but in Bradford as well, and the information I received about it was only positive or very positive. Prof. connection with director of peace studies centre. Students studying the same course gave me an insight into the university and that influenced my decision as I had been considering a different university. That exhibition gave me the idea what to seek for, later I was researching similar universities and courses and still ended up choosing Bradford. That was the last but one step to my final decision. The course suited me The information on website is very elaborative, Business school ranking, its facilities, the most important is, it is clearly mentioned that the school is number one in terms of employability. Since my major focus was on placement sevices, this university has really attracted me very much. The means of communication between the University the applicant is Superb The modules influenced my decision of choosing the course and the location of the university. The nature of the information on the website made me research the university and draw 23 appropriate conclusions. The open day I attended after reading the local press was the biggest influence. The school I attended gave lots of useful information about university and what influenced my decision furthermore was trips to universities, HE fairs and the prospectus. THE SOURCE OF INFORMATION HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY COMING TO BRADFORD AS I COULD HAVE APPLIED THROUGH OTHER MEANS The UCAS website is great for finding institutions that offer the course you want to study. The UCAS website only has basic information about the course and university. Once I looked at the Universities website I was more positive about the university and wanted to come to it. the universities reputation for the life sciences courses seemed very promising the visit of the university influenced me along with friends and family THE VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY INFLUENCED MY DECISION The website gave me adequate information about the course content. the website was slightly complicated To be aware that Bradford school of Management is one of the best in the world exited me. Two of my sisters went to University at the University of Bradford and they gave me advice that it was a brilliant University which helped me make my decision. Using Google directed me to Bradford universities main site, of which was very informative, straight forward and inviting to read. Very helpful Very useful and helpful with full contact details Very well presented and outlined. Wanted to be taught by one of the best in the subject area well my friend actually made me think about researching about the university and course further With ucas you feel they are "chewing for you “and all you need is to swallow. That how best I feel. Yeah but since I also live local, it took favourite above all the rest yes... it seems to have all the relevant necessities. 24 Appendix 4 Name all competitors, the type of media seen and whether this was the right media for the university to use: A lot of universities advertise in the newspapers. I think newspapers are good for advertising programs. University of Toronto, York University, Sir Wilfred University, Windsor University, University of Wales, University of Sunder...?, University of Edinburgh. advertisements on television all universities on UCAS Anglia Ruskin university through TV advert. Other prospectus Around 30 UK Universities and 15-20 other European Uni. I've seen them on the internet. I think internet is definitely the right media for Universities to advertise themselves, especially for international prospective students Aston - internet Birmingham - internet Manchester - flyers edge hill - TV Bolton - radio and posters Aston University News, Radio, Television The media used by the university was quite good. Aston University. Prospectus Australia University, prospectus it was ok banners, posters and on internet Bill boards, emails, bus, visits. yes as it allowed you to go and find out about the university billboards Birmingham and others on the TV Blackburn College on a billboard. It was very eye catching as the picture of the person on the billboard was someone I already know. It was a right type of media to use... Bradford - Rocket Fuel your Future, Billboards and in magazines also in the Telegraph and Argus Bradford College Bradford college - Billboard and sides of busses - not advisable Wakefield College - inside bus/banner better than BC but still not advisable. I think the prospectus and UCAS are the best media. Bradford college, newspaper Middlesex university, newspaper Leicester university, newspaper Aberdeen university, newspaper and many more in newspapers. Advertising in a newspaper might make a university look too much commercial. Bristol university, Easton college, University of East Anglia, Anglia Ruskin, university of York. Most of these were via post, email, or ucas. These were the ones I remember, so they all must be fairly effective! Cambridge,Australia,Malysia,AUSI.I saw them on local newspaper and it is not the best because not many people buy it and has less information 25 Cardiff university, Birmingham university and Aston university Coventry university website. bsite. And yes I think its right to have university website. Coventry, Canterbury Bristol, Canterbury. All of the advertisements were useful. Canfield & Lancaster DeMontfort - TV & press and their marketing leaflets are very informative. Derby University - Television advert DMU, Derby, Edge Hill. Using TV adverts which make them look desperate and give them an image of low quality/standards. Edge hill Lincoln Edge Hill - TV - Got attention, but also says to me "If we were a good university, we wouldn't need a TV advert" UCLAN - Billboard - I live in Lancashire, so it’s just part and parcel. The university as a whole doesn't interest me, so I kind of block these ads off. Bedford - Web Advert (UCAS) - Really got my attention, I must admit, I do like those little squares on the UCAS pages, definitely made me consider it, until I found it didn't have my course, and wasn't in the North. edge hill Salford man met edge hill - TV yes as it an effective way of advertising the university to people who wouldn’t have otherwise considered it Essex and bath, ucas mainly some fliers, not great choice, would prefer to speak to representatives. Exeter Facebook - Leeds Trinity - was the right form as it was easiest access to most students applying to unis. Radio TV Pamphlets Far too many to name, and all aspects of media were used. None seemed to jump out at me, so I don't think there's been a wrong or a right media. flyers, websites, adverts on buses From all Northern Ireland universities, Queens, University of Ulster. Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester. All used prospectuses and posters. Some used TV adverts Huddersfield Huddersfield Leeds Metropolitan Leeds Brochures at the college FE fair. They were informative but the best source of information is definitely the University websites. Huddersfield leaflets Huddersfield university sent a folder with all sorts of information in it and DVD advertising the university campus which was very nice. I think using a DVD would be a good way for Bradford university to advertise especially to teenagers. Huddersfield, bus posters, newspapers Leeds, internet, leaflets edge hill and Loughborough, telly Newcastle, internet think they were all good types of media to use. 26 Huddersfield, London and Bath. London was in the press, newspapers. It looked expensive advertising. Huddersfield, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds met. Huddersfield-bill board advert-right media to use. Huddersfield: prospectus, leaflets. it was the right media to use Hull, emails and letters, I believe the letters were but I found that the emails weren’t as they kept coming even after I had not responded to the university. Huddersfield university, Liverpool john moores, demontfort university and Portsmouth university. Saw the advertising in newspapers and on the university websites. I think it was the right media to use. I can't remember all of them but mainly on the sides of buses that was Stockport college and others on websites mainly ucas website and a magazines ucas sent to me I can't remember the exact unis, open university it was a letter, there were other universities as well but I can't remember them. It was the right media. I cannot recall all of the universities that I have seen advertised, the mains ones I recall include: DeMontford, Leicester, Aberystwyth and Sheffield. I have seen these advertised on the sides of buses, on billboards and in UCAS magazines I can’t really remember any to be honest; mostly I saw them at the UCAS fair, which was a really informative event, where I specifically searched Bradford out. I have seen a few TV adverts and flyers, but I found the internet the best way for me as compared to them because I was searching by a less common subject than others, and wanted somewhere I knew would give a good dedicated course, so generic advertising wasn’t that good to me. I don’t think the schools are in the class with University of Bradford. The class of Universities were not advertising there. I think the university is doing very well. I had a whole box of different Facebook. Half of them were from UK, about 30% from my homeland Estonia. And also Germany, Denmark and Switzerland... I even had three from Spain, although my Spanish is quite weak. I have I have been interviewed by university of west England Bristol, University of Hull, Edge-Hill university in British council of India and been offered unconditional place in all three for MBA, but finally decided Bradford MSc(management) because of its reputation for "value for money”. Its excellent placement record has attracted me. I have come across other universities namely uclan, Liverpool john moors, Bolton and Manchester metropolitan. I have had spokespeople come into my college, seen adverts on ucas and have been in contact through letters with these other sources. I have seen adverts on television for Birmingham university and also another which I cannot remember. I have seen for many universities, like university of Middlesex, and many other. and yes they attract me a lot. 27 I have seen many advertisements on TV telling me to go into careers in IT as they have more security in their jobs and the minimum salary is so high... Have to say is enticing but I don’t want to do that for the rest of my life. I have seen other colleges/universities such as Shipley college on the television. I personally think that this was the right media for the college to use as not many students look at prospectuses and television is a very popular informative source. I live in Canada, so it was mostly universities and colleges that are here - U of Toronto, York University, etc. U of T doesn't really advertise themselves though... Other colleges here advertise on subways, and newspapers. I paid it no mind. I saw advert of a lot of UK universities as I had attended an educational exhibition for UK universities in dammam, K.S.A. I think it is a good idea for universities to have stalls in exhibitions. I saw advertising on the ucas website and in prospectuses at my sixth form (Harrogate High School). I see advertising for colleges all the time from in the mail to websites to billboards. There is no way I can name them all. I think all of these ways appeal to a different group of individuals. I think the choice of media is never universally right or wrong only right or wrong for the target audience. In America, University level sports are a huge part of our culture. During television broadcasts, the universities show advertisements and whatnot. It’s impossible to live in America and not see some sort of advertisement for a university almost every day. While it is effective, for some, it had no effect on my decision. internet - Leeds Metro Leeds Manchester Manchester Metro Oxford Cambridge Portsmouth Southampton Imperial London Brighton Plymouth Very affective media It was done via advertisements on the internet, television and in magazines that weren’t aimed at education It was TV adverts but it was months ago so can’t remember. It was the right media Keele university-prospectus and postcards uclan-letters, prospectus, postcards, website, e-mails Liverpool-prospectus Kings College - poster Middlesex - poster Uxbridge - friends Oxford and Cambridge - seminar Kings College, London University of Kent Leidn University, Netherlands Kirklees College were advertising on buses and bus tickets. I think it is a good way of advertising because hundreds of people use buses. Lancaster University Leeds Liverpool Leeds and yes Leeds met Leeds university trinity college 28 Leeds Met - Bill Board Leeds met and Leeds university Leeds met university, prospectus, yes it was the right media Huddersfield university, prospectus, yes it was the right media Leeds Met, Leeds University, Leeds Metropolitan sent leaflet/poster. Both Kings College (London) and a Newcastle University sent a brief information pack as to why I should choose them. Leeds metropolitan university prospectus and postcards. The prospectus was quite useful so I think it was the right media for the university to use Leeds metropolitan: The media that was used is banners on local buses. Leeds trinity -radio, hudd - newspaper Leeds Trinity- poster- gets your attention to look further Huddersfield- TV - yes Leeds trinity?-on side of a bus! thought it was eye-catching but not time to get phone number etc Leeds Uni, Leeds Met, Napier Uni, Edinburgh Uni, Glasgow Uni, London Met and Oxford University. Leeds University Leeds Met University Leeds University giving booklets and brochures in post Huddersfield the same Leeds University prospectus - Quite informative Salford University - Lots of info on bursaries with was useful to know Leeds University web page. Leeds university website Leeds met university website Leeds University website I think that too was the right kind of media Leeds university, Bradford college, in the papers, on the internet, etc. Leeds University, Huddersfield University, Open University and Oxford University. Their adverts were via internet, prospectus and the TV. Leeds university, Huddersfield university. prospectuses and websites of each, both equally informative. Leeds university, trinity college, university of Lincon. Banners on the side of buses, posters, TV adverts. Leeds university, along with Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool. Main media seen was leaflets and posters. Yes these were the right types of media to use as they were eye catching and not loaded with vast amounts of information but just enough to know what it was about. Leeds University- I have seen their website Leeds, Kingston and Glasgow used similar mode of Advertising. However, the School Of Management`s (Bradford) prospectus was very convincing than the competitors. Leeds, MMU... 29 Leeds..on billboards, radio and internet Lincoln on TV-good Medway via ucas-good University of Liverpool on ucas-good Leeds university via friends Lincoln university- advert on the TV- useful way to advertise. Lincoln (TV ad) Huddersfield (internet) Leeds (internet) Listen to a lot of Radio - mainly London Universities especially for clearing. Liverpool - postcard (not good to use) Leeds - website (very useful) Liverpool, hull, Sunderland, TV was the main source. Northumbria on TV, it was effective to some extent and I've also seen Leeds. It didn't stand out that much though. On internet on the ucas website, which I believe was the right media for the university to use. Other universities via post, email etc.. Oxford, posters HYMS, leaflets, posters, online adverts, yes Newcastle, posters Nottingham, online, posters, leaflets, yes postcard and letters. postcards and leaflets sent through the post posters Posters about open days and different types of opportunities from the university up in the common room at school. 30 Posters in the common room at school listing the open days and different study opportunities at the university. posters, banners, flyers, etc PROSPECTUS - THIS IS VERY GOOD WAY OF ADVERTISING THE UNIVERSITY PROSPECTUS, CD'S , LETTERS AND SCHOOL POSTERS AND IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. queen Mary, universities of Manchester, Leeds, Huddersfield, london, etc 2)basically hand bills and TV adverts in my country highlighting schools fairs with specific universities being mentioned. Queen Mary, University of London put an advertisement in The Independent and it was very professional. It was right to use considering that university's history. radio, tv, newspapers, flyers etc Radio: Leeds Metropolitan university, Park Lane college, Bradford university. In my opinion any kind of media is good for advertising university because education is so important nowadays when all technologies, companies are so massive and have such a big influence in human's life. school fairs, websites and builings ( uni's themselves) Sheffield University also advertise a similar course. They are also listed on the BPS website and send out an informative booklet about the course. It gave information about the units of study that make up the course and what type of teaching methods are used. I found the information useful. Sheffield, Newcastle, Canfield, Northampton. SHEFIELD UNIVERSITY LIVERPOOL UNIVERSITY HUDDERSFIELD UNIVERSITY ALL THROUGH UCAS T.V advertisements Prospectus T.V adverts, yes as you are able to visualise the university television and radio Television, Newspapers, Bus stops etc. for local universities. Television, Online Ads Television, Radio and newspaper. Leeds Metropolitan University Huddersfield University and some others that I don't remember. T.V is the highest and probably the best way to advertise as almost everyone watches it. The advertising hoardings for Trinity And All Saints College, Leeds - are very effective. The Educational consultants "Success Factor" in Karachi Pakistan. I was registered and they mailed me the information. the open university... telly The University of Nottingham, Queen's University Belfast, Birmingham City University, The University of Strathclyde. 31 There were a large group of different universities at the higher education Fayre. This is a good form of advertising as it enables the students to look at the options available. through TV - Lincoln etc Tonnes of paper, I feel bad for eco system, I planted a tree as an excuse for that. Many facebooks from all over Europe and a few from the US. Trinity and all saints TV - park lane, Sunderland, Liverpool TV adverts - yes it was the right media to use because it target a wide audience. Course Books etc TV Adverts ... can't remember which university! I have also seen TV ads for Bradford college recently. I think it is a good way to advertise. TV adverts Birmingham Uni not the right media, I think it makes universities look desperate. TV adverts for various universities which is useful as shows images of the "living" university rather than pics University prospectus' for various which gives plenty of detailed info for the university and specific courses TV, Newcastle Uni. Birmingham I think. Good adverts.
