GlenOak High School serves the Plain Local community. GlenOak High School is a
comprehensive public high school. The division of the school year is quarterly and credits
are awarded by semester. A strong academic program with integrated studies and
interdisciplinary classes is complemented by extensive career/technical programs. GlenOak
operates on an alternate day block schedule. GlenOak High School is accredited by the
North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. With over 23 varsity athletic teams and
over 35 co-curricular/extracurricular activities, GlenOak students have a wide variety of
opportunities to get involved. The Plain Local Schools have a strong tradition of providing
students with an exceptional education that is personalized and relevant.

Sixteen Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in the following areas: English
Language, English Literature, Calculus AB, BC, Statistics, US History, US Government &
Politics, World History, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish Language,
French Language, German Language and Studio Art.
All subjects are used to calculate class rank and cumulative grade point average with the
exception of physical education courses.

Dual credit courses offer students the opportunity to acquire both high school and
college credit for coursework that is completed at GlenOak High School instead of
traveling to the college/university. Theses courses are taught by a high school
teacher who has gained adjunct status from the college/university. Students earn
3 college credits hours for English IV Composition & Literature, and Stark State
College and 4 college credit hours from the University of Mount Union for Precalculus.
