with an element of controversy
• Encourages deep learning and
independent learning and research skills
• Gains student a ½ GCSE (A*-C)
Some project titles…
Theory of Knowledge (ToK)
• Aimed at preparing students for ToK at IB

• This is explored through attempting to
answer interesting questions like ‘How
accurate is my map of the world?’
• This is a BSM designed course.

• For (I)GCSE qualifications, grades A*, A,
B, C, D, E, F, G are considered a pass
• At IB, a level 7 is the highest possible
mark
• Our assessment models mirror those used
by external bodies (CEM, examination
boards…)
What’s changing, and what isn’t
• Previously, we have averaged out the levels and
published them 4 times per year
• This year, we will be giving more information on more
tasks and assessments
• Comments and targets
• Access through View Marks on SchoolBase
• Working to improve the view
• Our assessment procedures are secure and robust.
We’re only changing the way you can access them
• Please bear with us!
