Proposal for organization of training programmes under Centre of Advanced Faculty Training in frontier and specialized areas of agriculture and allied sciences (2013 – 2014) 1. Topic of the training programme : “Latest techniques in value added poultry products preparation and marketing” 2. Justification of the proposed programme in the light of suggestive training needs in the discipline (not more than 100 words) In India, poultry production has registered a magnificent growth and still found to be a rapidly expanding segment compared to any other livestock industry. Poultry products are well accepted by majority of the population in India. However, the poultry processing industry, especially value added poultry product sector has not been gaining momentum as that of the production. The lack of quality control, organized marketing and distribution network in our country further aggravate the situation. However, consumer awareness has increased for product with better quality, safety and value addition. Hence, conducting training programme about value added poultry products will be very much helpful to the participants from various parts of the country. 3.
