What is the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota (MPM) Program Services Council?
The MPM Program Services Council serves as an advisory group to MPM’s program services staff;
the Council is primarily focused on support and resources MPM provides to Minnesota mentoring
youth programs.
Why should I serve on the MPM Program Services Council?
By serving on the MPM Program Services Council you will assist MPM in building and sustaining
quality mentoring for our state. You will be invited to share your perspective and provide strategic
guidance for MPM’s quality initiative, training resources and other services for Minnesota mentoring
programs. You will have the opportunity to network with, and learn from, other mentoring program
staff. You will also serve as a voice for your region and for the type of mentoring services you offer.
Who serves on the MPM Program Services Council?
The MPM Program Services Council consists of 12-15 individuals representing diverse mentoring
programs, organizations, and collaborations from around the state. Members of the MPM Program
Services Council must be part of a youth mentoring program registered with MPM. Uncertain about
whether your program is registered? Email MPM at mentor@mpmn.org to verify registration status.
What is the time commitment for the MPM Program Services Council?
MPM Program Services Council members are expected to commit to quarterly meetings for a
minimum of two years. MPM Program Services Council meetings can be attended in-person or
remotely, through a web-based meeting platform. The first meeting will be in March and will be
scheduled through a doodle in January 2016 to find a time that works best for a majority of council
members. Members may also be expected to participate in conference calls and complete committeedriven tasks between quarterly meetings as needed.
How will the MPM Program Services Council members be selected?
Individuals interested in serving on the MPM Program Services Council should complete the
nomination/application form and return it to MPM by November 20, 2015. Completed nomination
forms may be faxed, mailed, or emailed to MPM. MPM staff will select Program Services Council
members who are representative of the state in terms of diversity of programs, expertise, and
geographic area served. Individuals will be notified of their selection by December 1, 2015.
