Students will be taught reading strategies such as identifying
key words within the question, how to understand what the
question is asking. How to skim and scan for key words within
the text. Practise reading comprehension activities will take
place.

Focus on persuasive
writing and language
conventions.
Throughout the term, we will have a big focus on language
conventions. This includes: spelling, grammar, punctuation,
similes, metaphors and homophones. However this week is
solely on language conventions.
We will also complete practise NAPLAN tests.

Week 6
Introduction to debating. How to prepare and present a
persuasive speech. Oral presentations to be given in front of
class next week.
