Challenge Camp (Ages 5-15)
This camp is devoted specifically to helping children diagnosed with behavioral, emotional, &/or
mild learning difficulties. Through the use of behavior modification and social skills training, the
children learn and/or are encouraged to engage more often in socially appropriate behaviors
which will help them better communicate with others and eventually improve their overall self-
esteem. These behaviors are reinforced through the use of both social and and material rewards.
This camp’s goal is to encourage each child and build them up by using structure, reinforcement,
consistency, compassion, respect, patience and laughter.

Expressions Day Camp
Expressions is a unique recreational summer day camp program designed to empower socially
through camp! We seek to meet the needs of children, ages 6-18, who have different types of
social skill challenges such as High Functioning Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Nonverbal
Learning Disabilities and PDD-NOS or just for those who feel they need a little more social
confidence with their peers. Expressions at Big Oak Day Camp is a special place where your
child can safely enjoy a fun summer camp experience while improving and practicing his or her
social skills through carefully selected interactions with typical peers. Expressions Day Camp is
a safe place to express oneself!
Expressions is a 7-week summer camp program with two divisions: Junior Camp (ages 6-12)
and the Teen Camp (ages 13-18). Because Expressions is a program designed to teach and
reinforce prosocial behaviors, we strongly recommend campers attend at least for two
consecutive weeks in order to provide greater consistency and reinforcement in learning, allow
for a smooth transition period, and ultimately achieve the most positive results for each camper.
FUNtastic Fridays - Many of our Expressions campers qualify for ESY in their local school
districts. To accommodate, we have designed FANTASTIC FRIDAYS as a stand=alone, 1-day
per-week option for those who utilize ESY the other 4 days per week. We provide one rate for 6
summer Fridays (July 10, 17, 24, 31, Aug 7 & 14). Contact Account Services Manager, Linda
Schloo, for more details: Accounts@CampConcepts.org.
