Transition Learning:
Organisational Cultures and Personal Effectiveness
Aim:
Today’s session we will look at organisational culture and
consider how this can impact career. We will also consider
professional behaviours within the workplace. Finally we will
consider your own personal effectiveness.
By the end of this session you should be able to:
• Define workplace culture
• Demonstrate an understanding of how to assess workplace
culture
• Explain how personally effective you are and how you can
improve your own personal effectiveness
Transition Learning:
Organisational Cultures and Personal Effectiveness
Blog Activity:
Consider the organisation you are completing
your internship with. What do you think the
culture will be like? How do you think you will fit
into a culture like this? You may want to
consider your own values and how you feel they
fit with the organisation?
It would also be useful to consider your own
personal effectiveness and reflect on this.
Transition Learning:
Organisational Culture Exercise
In your group, review the organisational
culture task in the pack provided.
Discuss how this task could help with
student transitions into work placements.
