-Abstract contains a concise description of the study, a brief statement of the problem, exposition
of methods and procedures. The capstone research project also includes a summary of findings
and implications.
-Comments:
Abstract affirms the problem, describes how the study addresses the problem and shares
the results of the study. Well written and easy to understand.

-Chapter 1 has a clear statement demonstrating that the focus of the study is on a significant
problem worth of study.
-The problem statement concisely states what will be studied.
-The specific research questions, hypotheses, or research objectives are briefly and clearly
described.
-The purpose of the study is described logically.
-Operational definitions are provided.
-Assumptions, limitations, scope, and delimitations are provided.
-The significance of the study is described.
-Comments:
All elements are effectively addressed. The purpose of the study is made clear and
assumptions, limitations and delimitations define the scope of the process very early. A
solid overview of the problem is presented.

-The review of research and literature is clearly related to the problem statement.
-The literature review compares/contrasts different points of view and research outcomes; relates
the study to previous research; and uses the most relevant and current published knowledge on the
topic.
-The content of the review is from acceptable peer-reviewed journals or sound academic journals.
-Literature related to the method is reviewed.
-The literature review is organized around major ideas or themes.
-Comments:
The literature review explains the current problem effectively. Multiple outlets for the
discussion are presented and the review is comprehensive. The problem is clearly defined
and the need for further exploration is justified in this section.

-Design describes which qualitative or quantitative methods will be used, justification for using
the design and approach, and derives logically from the problem statement.
-Setting and sample population described; criteria for participant selection is specified and
appropriate.
-The role of the researcher in the design is described.
-Measures for ethical protection of participants are adequate.
-Includes descriptions of instruments or data collection tools used and references to appendix for a
copy of the tool.
-Comments:
The methods are clearly defined in this chapter. The role of the researcher is explained
and there is ample description of the materials used.

-Reports findings related to each research questions and/or hypotheses.
-Measures obtained are reported clearly, following standard procedures.
-Data analysis is consistent with the research questions and/or hypotheses and does not contain
any evident statistical error.
-Tables and figures are self-descriptive, related to the text included in the chapter, and properly
identified.
-Comments:
The results are organized in a logical manner in this chapter. The data analysis process is
consistent with the research questions. The data presentation produces a solid foundation
for the interpretation of the results. 50

-The interpretations of the findings include conclusions that address all research questions and
relates the findings to a larger body of literature on the topic.
-Includes recommendations for action and further research study.
-Comments:
Chapter 5 is a well-formed presentation of the findings and several summary statements
are made that are logical representations of the data presented. I really like how you
revised the statements I noted from the last revision—this added to the clarity of your
final statements. A few options for future study are discussed and the public health
impact is noted.
