Profile and interests
I am an experienced professional interested in environmental sustainability, recycling
and energy efficiency. I hold a Diploma in Pollution Control (accredited by the
Chartered Institute of Waste Management) and am Member of the Institute of
Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) having passed the IEMA Associate
Certificate in Environmental Management. I am committed to providing a high quality
service and am reliable and hard working. I am also interested in the business case for
sustainable Buildings and Renewable Energy and I am investing effort in these areas,
but am interested in working in a professional role within any part of industry and commerce.
Management and Leadership
 Up to Date Knowledge of current UK Environmental Policies, Legislation and Compliance
 Interest in Environmental Management Systems (ISO14000 series, EMAS, BS8555)
 Able to undertake Environmental Auditing and other assessments (LCA, Carbon Footprinting)
 Experience of leading quality assurance exercises for external quality awards
 Experience of leading teams to develop and undertake new tasks
 Extensive experience of designing and undertake group work and training activities
 Experience of writing statistical reports, Self Assessment Reviews and Action planning
 Experience of recruitment processes, including shortlisting and panel interviewing
Environmental Monitoring and Modelling
 Understanding of ecology (UK flora and fauna) and environmental impacts of emissions.
 Able to undertake environmental surveys and undertake calculations of impacts
 Able to calculate and model air emissions and air dispersion patterns
 Understanding of Noise propagation and attenuation in the environment
 Knowledge of noise control methodologies and regulations
 Knowledge of monitoring technologies for water, air and noise.
 Understanding of Waste Stream and Waste Recycling industry including prevention, reuse,
recycling and energy recovery (incineration and Refuse Derived Fuel), Packaging Regulations
 Experience of using SimaPro Life Cycle Assessment Software
Buildings and Energy
 Interest in sustainable building and construction
 Experience of leading self-build project through planning process and working with Building
Control and within Building Regulations
 Interest in Energy Efficiency and Modern Methods of Construction
 Knowledge of Heat Flows, Ventilation and Air tightness, Insulation, Space Heating Technologies,
and calculation and evaluation methodologies
 Continuing education and learning within Property Management and Energy Certification
General Aptitudes
 Experienced user of Excel, PowerPoint and other office applications.
 In previous work as Careers Adviser, I have conducted over 10,000 one to one interviews
