AP Statistics FRAPPY Scoring Criteria
4 = Complete
3 = Substantial
2 = Developing
1 = Minimal
0 = Blank
2-Part Scoring Criteria:
 4: (both parts E)
• EE
 3: (one part E; one part P)
• EP, PE
 2: (both parts P OR 1 part E and 1 part I)
• PP, EI, IE
 1: (one part P; one part I)
• PI, IP
 0: (both parts I)
•
II
3-Part Scoring criteria:
• 4: EEE (ALL THREE parts must be essentially correct)
• 3: Possible combinations: EEP, EPE, PEE
• 2: Possible Combinations: EEI, EIE, IEE, EPP, PEP, PPE, PPP
• 1: Possible Combinations: EPI, EIP, IPE, PEI, PIE, EII, IEI, IIE, PPI, PIP, IPP
• 0: Possible Combinations: PII, IPI, IIP, III
4-Part Scoring criteria:
 For 4-Part Scoring, give each of the 4 parts an E, P and I.
o E’s = 1 point each
o P’s = ½ point each
o I’s = 0 points each
o Add up the points values to equal a score between a 0 and a 4.
 If a student response lands between two INTEGER values (ex: 2 ½), then a
‘holistic’ approach to scoring should take place to determine whether to score
up or score down. Be sure to consider the overall strength of the response and
overall communication in making that decision.
