Essential Functions
Plans, develops, and establishes policies and objectives of Communities In Schools of Georgia (CIS of Georgia) to convey the
vision, mission and goals to the highest policy levels in the public and private sectors in order to effect decisions and programs
that result in an end to the school dropout phenomenon. Additionally the president is responsible for effective execution of the
core functions of the state office. This is accomplished in accordance with Board directives and corporation charter by
performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers
The Chief Operating Officer will provide oversight, leadership and direction to ensure accomplishment of organizational
objectives of the organization within guidelines set by the President and the Board of Directors. This individual is responsible for
planning and creating the infrastructure and systems to achieve the goals of the organization. The Chief Operating Officer is
responsible for overseeing return on investment for all internal operations of Communities In Schools of Georgia and ensuring
that the strategic and tactical goals of CIS of GA are being accomplished.
Primary responsibilities are to assist the President and Vice President for Development in the performance of their duties in
general, their work with the board of directors, external agency relationships and communications, and implementation of all
fundraising programs for CIS of GA. The executive assistant for development will also work with the president in support of the
Chief Operating Officer for the leadership and management of the organization, as well as provide administrative support for
the president and vice president for development.
The Executive Assistant strives to proactively provide executive level assistance to the President by ensuring efficiency,
organization, and preparedness of the President’s office. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary contact and a
representative of the President and the Chief Operating Officer with staff, board of directors, stakeholders, affiliates, clients, and
public. Ensures the President is well informed and prepared at all times. Provides administrative support to the Executive Vice
President/Chief Operating Officer.
Responsible for the overall operational, fiscal, and staff management of the field support department. This includes providing
leadership and overall department direction, assisting in determining and achieving organizational objectives as related to field
support, managing the financial health of the department and supervising field operations staff.
The function of the Field Support and TQS Coordinator is to provide direct support to Communities In Schools’ (CIS) local
affiliates and Performance Learning Centers (PLC), develop and replicate the Communities In Schools and PLC model, and
provide CIS local affiliates and their sites with training, technical support, and networking opportunities for continual quality
improvement of Communities In Schools organizational development and service delivery. This position works closely with all
field support specialists, the evaluation team and, in limited circumstances, members in administrative, strategies, and
leadership functions. This employee reports to the director of field support.

training, logistics, and development support at a local, state and national level. This includes providing curricula implementation
and training of Performance Learning Centers (PLC) personnel. This position works closely with all field support specialists, the
evaluation team and, in limited circumstances, members in administrative, strategies, and leadership functions. This employee
reports to the director of field support.
The function of the Field Support and TQS Coordinator is to provide direct support to Communities In Schools’ (CIS) local

Primary responsibility is to provide administrative support to the Field Support Department and general office support

Works in collaboration with all departments to design and implement effective program evaluation. This position is responsible
for creating evaluation reports and constructing customized evaluation reports for donors, grants, affiliates and programs as
necessary. This position is responsible for the overall operational, fiscal, and staff management of the field support department.
This includes providing leadership and overall department direction, assisting in determining and achieving organizational
objectives as related to field support, managing the financial health of the department and supervising evaluation and
technology staff.
Under the direction of the Director of Evaluation and Technology, the Evaluation Specialist provides support to CIS of Georgia
evaluation efforts, including data entry, evaluation training, data analysis, evaluation coordination and report writing, and
preparation for those projects and programs to which the specialist has been assigned. Additionally, the Evaluation Specialist
assists with preparation of reports to organizations and funders, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations as needed.
Under the direction of the Director of Evaluation and Technology, the Data Collection Specialist provides support to
Communities In Schools of Georgia evaluation efforts, coordination affiliate data collection efforts including training in
databases, providing technical support in data collections, monitoring data collection quality and assistance with data entry as
needed. The Data Collection Specialist processes affiliate reports and cleans data for assigned projects. Additionally, the Data
Collection Specialist also assists with preparation of reports to organizations as needed.
Increase level of statewide and local awareness and credibility of Communities In Schools of Georgia by encouraging and
fostering support and participation from the staff, board members, school and government officials, local businesses, and other
organizations and service agencies. Supervise Communications Interns.
Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities associated with promoting the public
awareness of CIS network in the state of Georgia and in the online community. This includes providing logistical and planning
support for organizational events, working with vendors, writing, developing, and publishing awareness and promotional
materials, updating the CIS website and social media sites.
Responsible for planning, recommending, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing policies and
programs relating to all phases of personnel activity and assisting with the oversight of day-to-day organizational functions
Provides day to day general reception support.
Under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Manager has the responsibility for the implementation
and monitoring of financial, accounting, insurance, audit and investment functions of the organization. The Finance Manager
ensures that business functions of the organization are carried out in a consistent and legal manner based upon organizational

The Staff Accountant II is a mid-level accounting position with responsibilities including accounting, budgeting, and billing. This
position works closely with the Staff Accountant I and staff working with grants and trainings. The Staff Accountant II provides
reports to the Director of Finance and Accounting and provides backup this position as necessary.

Promotes parent involvement/engagement initiatives that support Communities In Schools of Georgia’s statewide strategy on
dropout prevention with an emphasis on the Georgia Parent Information Resource Centers (GA PIRC). The Parent Involvement
Coordinator’s position provides parent involvement/engagement resources to all CIS local affiliates and parents across the state
of Georgia.
Promote a college-going atmosphere amongst Georgia students supported by disseminating information and providing training
and resources aimed at college preparation, admission, and college-going culture. This position also supports high school
juniors and seniors in navigating the college admission and assimilation process by managing a targeted mentoring initiative.
This is a grant sponsored position and, therefore, contingent upon continued funding.
Promote tutoring initiatives that support Communities In Schools of Georgia’s statewide strategy on dropout prevention with an
emphasis on the AmeriCorps program funded through the Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism. The Tutoring
Projects Coordinator is a position which provides tutoring resources to all CIS local affiliates and AmeriCorps resources to
targeted CIS affiliates
Primary responsibility is to provide administrative and programmatic support to the AmeriCorps grants initiative. This position
reports to the Strategies Coordinator for Tutoring Projects. This position is contingent upon continued funding
The Advocacy and Partnership Coordinator supports implementation of effective advocacy plans and partnership building
efforts to assigned local affiliates. This position facilitates development of strong, dynamic local affiliates through effective
coaching and provision of tools and resources for site level operations. This position directly supports CIS executive directors,
board leaders and community teams. Additionally, the Advocacy and Partnership Coordinator is responsible for components of
the statewide partnership development program. This position reports to the Director of Field Support. This position is
contingent upon continued funding.
The Coordinator of Operations performs human resources and office management functions, and provides administrative
support to the Chief Operating Officer.

involvement programs. The incumbent is charged providing education and assistance as related to developing and implementing parental
involvement program. The incumbent is expected to serve as a resource for established parent involvement programs. Employee is also
expected to replicate the CIS model and provide technical assistance to developing affiliates

on the AmeriCorps VISTA programs. The position provides mentoring resources to all CIS local affiliates and parents across the state of

This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations of initiatives related to abstinence education programs. This includes coordinating
the program model, evaluation, and financial management of project. Incumbent will collaborate with the Vice President of Operations,
executive directors of participating affiliates, external evaluation team, and the Field Support Services Manager.
Primary responsibility is to assist in the development and implementation of social media channels for Communities In Schools of Georgia. The
position is 15-20 hours per week from May 10 through December 31. Candidates must have junior or senior standing and majoring in
communications, journalism, education or related field.

support the financial needs of Communities In Schools of Georgia. Assures development and maintenance of appropriate
systems to fund development including volunteer and donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing and
recognition. Maintains accountability and compliance standards for donors, all public and private financial support.
