Dear Members, Just a reminder of our upcoming November 19th meeting. I’m sure everyone knows the drill by now, 6:30 PM Dinner,
7:30 PM Meeting. Same location, Barbara Fritchie. Hope you can attend; this will be our last meeting of the year.
I am once again saddened to convey the passing of two longtime members, M. D. Miller and Merle Herr. MD was one of the founding
members and it was his idea to call our chapter Mason Dixon. Most will remember MD for his two bright red Diamond T trucks. Our
thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Peggy and Doug and Laura and the family. Merle came to us by way of the Susquehanna
Chapter, he and his wife were frequent attendants to area truck shows in their H model Mack. He later switched to a 73 Kenworth as
old man time closed in. Merle passed away a week after attending the Tri-State Show.
Thanks again go out to Laura and Doug Miller for providing a delicious pulled pork dinner on Thursday night. I myself thought the
homemade coleslaw was exceptional; too bad I only got one serving.
For the second year, we again sponsored a Veterans dinner on Friday night. On behalf of myself and I’m sure all that attended we
would like to commend Mel Fair for his blessing/words before our meal. This year we shared the cost with the Ruritan Club as they
asked to become part of this endeavor. The chapter has taken over the cost of the veteran’s dinner. Any member/vet who would like to
contribute to this or next year’s dinner can still do so through Randy.

York shirts, posters, and bumper stickers will be at the next meeting and The Festivus, Christmas is coming. So far to date we have
made $1180.00 profit from shirt sales. Please do not forget to winterize the old trucks and for those of you that have Mack’s remember
to put the Santa suit on the dog. Remember that the gifts on Santa’s sled came by trucks Made in America
The Tri-State show was well attended with over 275 trucks; I would like to thank Joe Hulver and the Stonewall District Ruritan club
for being our gracious host for the past ten years and for their support of the veteran’s dinner. In closing I wish all a good

York Convention 2015, Schedule will be 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Thursday & Sat and 8:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.
on Friday. Traffic, photo area and docks were finalized. Mason Dixon will be manning the loading
docks. Registration will be modified this time to include an entrance lane for those who are preregistered. New this year will be indoor show area in the UTZ Arena for an additional $20 registration
fee. Volunteers will receive bright colored t-shirts so that they can be easily identified for those
needing assistance. Auction will be suspended in 2015 and be reviewed for future conventions.
Future Conventions: 2016 Salem OR, 2017 Des Moines IA, 2018 Lexington KY
New Executive Director was selected shortly after the Board Mtg. Mr. Don Bretthauer from Kansas.
Scott Shifflett presented a sample 2015 Convention wheel chock and was well received. Plans are to
make about 1500.
Next Board meeting will be Kansas City, MO in January.

Dues and Membership
The policy of the ATHS and the bylaws of the Mason Dixon Chapter state you must be an ATHS member to be a member of the local
chapter. On the issue of dues, this will be the last year that we will accept dues year round. For 2015 dues will be accepted starting
now with the last dues collection at the Festivus in January. The chapter has to submit a list of members to the ATHS by the 31st of
January of each year. This is when the ATHS audits membership to see if the chapter members are ATHS members. We can no longer
carry members that are past due on their dues.
The Hood Scoop is published on the first week of the odd month when possible. Deadline for submission to the Calendar of Events and For Sale / Wanted is the
third Friday of the even month.
