organisation.

Main Duties

The Communications and Marketing Executive
duties:
will perform the following
Communications and Marketing
 Develop and deliver a Communication and Marketing Strategy across
range of online and offline channels
o Manage internal and external communications to ensure focussed
and consistent messaging and tone
o Maximise the use of the current CRM system to improve
communication and loyalty
o Develop and maintain media relations at local and national level,
leading the creation of a PR contact database to enhance
basketballscotland profile
o Plan the production, scheduling and distribution of all online
communications including e-newsletters, surveys and press
releases to support the basketballscotland message
o Manage the redevelopment of the basketballscotland website



Continually develop the basketballscotland brand
o Lead the production and effective distribution of marketing
materials
o Plan and deliver marketing and communications for major events
and programmes
o Maximise resources to increase awareness of the sport and
organisation, including by working with clubs to improve their
marketing
Ensure the provision of monthly reports and analysis for online and
offline communications activity to identify opportunities and improve
effectiveness
Manage a budget in relation to Communications and Marketing, creating
innovative solutions to operate initiatives at minimum cost.
Partnerships and Sponsorship
 Define, develop and implement a Communications Plan which allows the
basketballscotland Communities Team to fulfil Cash Back for
Communities requirements
 Manage relationships and activation for a range of partners, sponsors
and membership partners
 Provide support to ensure sponsorship obligations are met
 Actively pursue new commercial and membership partnerships
General
 Perform other duties as required to support the development of the
organisation

COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING EXECUTIVE
PRELIMINARY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Duration
This position will be appointed on permanent contract, subject to continuous
funding
Hours of work
Full Time – 37.5 Hours per week. The hours or work are flexible around the
requirements of the post.
Salary
The salary for this position is £18,000 - £23,000 per annum. Starting salary
will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
Annual Leave
Annual leave entitlement is 22 days, increasing to 25 after 1 year of service.
In addition there is an annual public holiday entitlement of 10.5 days.
Pension
basketballscotland does not currently contribute to an Employers’ Pension
Scheme. Under new Statutory Regulations, contributions will be made
according to the criteria laid out as per Pension Act 2008 and The Pension
Regulator.

This post will be based at basketballscotland’s offices, Caledonia House,
South Gyle, Edinburgh EH12 9DQ.

