“My Personal History” – Criteria – 200 points total
You will write a 5-paragraph narrative essay, using the format provided to introduce yourself to
Ms. Villegas. You must conduct research/interviews of your family and gather primary sources
to gain information about your history.
You will present highlights from your essay to the class during a brief presentation. You can
create: a power-point presentation or video, a poster, food to share, and/or show and tell using
personal items.
SWBAT: demonstrate research skills by writing a narrative essay using historical data
Requirements (You must have/do):
1. Research – Gather primary sources (i.e. pictures, memorabilia) and conduct interviews of
family members to gain information for your paper – take notes
2. Title – “My Personal History”
3. 5 Indented paragraphs (correct organization) in your Rough Draft & Final Draft
4. At least 6 sentences per paragraph (follow the format provided)
5. Topic sentences at the beginning of each paragraph
