The History Channel video recounted that this particular accusation was shocking because Rebecca was known as one of the most pious women in Salem. TASK: Read “Testimony and Examination on Rebecca Nurse of Salem, 1692.” This is a primary source, which means that it was written during the time period. This is the actual testimony that Ann Putnam gave in court when Rebecca, among others, was accused of witchcraft. Pretend like you are a lawyer defending Rebecca. On your notes sheets, write down what you would say in response to the testimony. Remember, you need to prove Rebecca INNOCENT. Your response should be at least 3 to 5 sentences long.
