Project Goal: Attracting a well-qualified pool of diverse nurses to fit projected nursing needs.
Group Chair-Wayde Sick
1. Introductions:
2. Review November meeting notes. (on group website)
3. Review feedback from January Home Group meetings.

Workplace Planning Group: On RFP- nice to have more background on what the center is, who would they need to
contact, a clear outline of what we wanted delivered, do we want execution or a marketing plan, could also access to the
state marketing services list that has a broader list to, survey on the aspects of the center, could post designs or ads,
Would concur that doing it locally might work for us. There is some familiarity with other ways at looking for jobs, the
most important thing is to be able to push the jobs out and the ability to pull in people that are interested in. Like the
idea of having the ability to post resumes. It has been a big thing for us on the Western part of the state- because people
know where to look for jobs

Nursing Education and Faculty Resources: The career center looks nice. It was nice to post our faculty jobs on it. We
know that one of the faculty that we hired at University of Mary came from our job posting.
4. Review dissemination of recruitment toolkit (links on group website)
 Guest Speaker/Mentor List status
 Email sent to guest speakers emphasizing use of page resources
 Fact Sheet developed for Guest Speaker/Mentor and added to monthly enewsletter
 Will plan to update simulation contact list in May
 Diversity pictures and content added
 Discuss having a separate website featuring diversity- Next Steps/Rain, HPOG, male nursing information etc.
 Email sent to high school counselors and teachers to promote usage of page and of guest speakers
5. Review career center statistics and discuss how to further promote career center.
 Addition of link to out of state job seekers email
 Recent issues with Career Center and the potential for looking at creating our own
6. Update on determining how many of the lapsed licenses could be due to retirement by looking at age or how many went
from LPN to RN by looking at database
7. Reentry information- NDBON is in the process of a new website design- this information will be easier to find
8. Discuss marketing consultant RFP. Received one application. Subcomittee opted to not hire. Revise the RFP or develop the
plan ourselves? Should it be part of a new portal that includes links to our recruitment page and to a new career center?
 Status on checking with Legendary ND campaign
 MSUM intern that could help design marketing for Career Center
9. Develop workplan for next year and revise budget. Final version will need to go to full Workplace Planning group by April
30th.
The next scheduled meeting for this group is May 9, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
