Information Evening
Wednesday 11th November 2015
A Level Reforms
• Review of A Level qualification with A Level and AS Level decoupled
• AS and A Level qualifications will be assessed at the end of the course
• AS qualifications are designed to be taught in the first year of the A Level course
• Non-exam assessment will only be used where the content or skills cannot be
assessed in any other way – most AS qualifications will be exam only
• The exception is that two grades will be awarded for Science subjects – an exam
grade and a practical grade which will be pass or fail
• There is a revised method for calculating A* at A Level
