Describe the “sound” of the station format. What types of music does it play (if
applicable)? What types of “shows” does it play? Does it use station jingles or
bumpers? Is it effectively presenting its format?
The sound of the format is very diverse. It plays pop, rap, R&B, basically music that
attracts every race in the area. Ryan Seacrest does use a jingle and its very effective
in presenting its format.
How is a typical hour formatted? Are their commercials, station breaks,
news/weather segments, songs, etc.?
The typical hour is that they would play 2-3 songs in a row and then talk about what
is going on in the entertainment world then go on commercial. After the commercial
they would a couple more songs then share some news with the world.
What type of audience is the station trying to reach? Do you think the
programming is effective for the intended audience?
The type of audience that the station is trying to reach is every one of all ages and
race. The type of music is not subjected to one race like other radio stations.
What kinds of commercials does the station play? Are the products/services
advertised marketed toward a specific audience? Does the audience of the
commercials match the targeted audience of the format?
The commercials that were played were cancer awareness commercials, Car
commercials, and Mothers Days commercials. The products are toward everyone
not to a specific audience because the products are useful to everyone.
Is there (are there) DJs? What do they sound like? What types of things to they
say/ What do they discuss? How do they try to connect to the audience?
There are DJ’s but not during the Ryan Seacrest Show. Ryan Seacrest is known for
hosting American Idol and other popular TV shows. He connects to the audience
because everyone knows him and he attracts the audience by just being him.
Does the station format change during the day? If so, what formats does it
play? The stations doesn’t change format during the day. It stays at Contemporary
Hit Music.
