And now a word about Political Correctness…
“Politically Correct” Defined:
Adjective
“Conforming to a belief that language and practices
which could offend political sensibilities should be
eliminated.”
"Politically Correct." Merriam-Webster.com. Merriam-Webster, n.d. Web. 5 Feb. 2014.
<http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/politically correct>.
"People have lost their sense of humor… I don't
want to be politically correct. We're all spending
too much time and energy trying to be politically
correct about everything."
What I’m not saying
Anti-political correctness gone wrong…
a different approach.
“Transcend political correctness and strive for human righteousness.”
Anthony J. D'Angelo
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility
value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each
of you to the interests of the others.
- Philippians 2:3-4
So …
As you prepare your speech,
don’t be limited by ‘political
correctness’. Just strive to be
thoughtful, kind and courteous.
