Ambassador Internship Program
Marketing Interns (2 openings)
Description:
Interns can expect from the internship to:
 Commit to intern for two semesters including the intersessions
 Fall semester: earn 3 academic credits (The Business Department offers
BUSN 7290X for graduate students and BUSN 5100 or BUSN 5101 for
undergraduates)
 Spring semester: receive a stipend award of $1,500 based upon successful completion
of the internship (half to be awarded in March and the remaining half in June)
 Work 11 hours a week
 Engage in a written final report
 Participate in an initial orientation and on-going training
 Be assigned to two mentors—a career counselor and an alumnus
 Actively assess and connect their academic and career development
Marketing Interns
Learning Outcomes, as a result of this internship, students will be able to:



Apply at least three effective marketing techniques by engaging students to utilize the Center
Refine writing skills by illustrating purpose, appropriate grammar and coherent written form
Demonstrate public speaking ability with more confidence by explaining the Center’s resources
Responsibilities may include:







Conduct outreach and presentations to classes, clubs, departments and other groups
Publicize job/internship opportunities and events utilizing various media outlets
Promote the Center’s programs and services actively
Compose and send weekly emails to targeted groups about workshops and events
Maintain and update online content and social media sites
Recommend and implement new areas to publicize the Center
Provide project support to Magner Center staff as needed
Requirements:




Undergraduate/Graduate student in TVR, CIS, Business, Marketing, English or related field
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility and willingness to learn
Experience utilizing social media and website content management database

Preferred experience in graphic design, desktop publishing and advertising
Preferred knowledge of PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop,
Illustrator, and InDesign

an ambassador intern, describe your applicable skills, and list your available hours to work at
the Magner Center for the upcoming fall semester; email an idea/design on how you can help
market the Center

 Application is on a rolling-basis, students are encouraged to apply early and priority will be
given to submissions prior to September 5th
