Help! I needl prayer Men, women, church and community need our prayer support. Here’s an opportunity for you to answer this call for help? A national SDA prayer helpline called the Whel ‘Answering calls for help!’ It will be launched in September 2011. Whel means Women & Men’s Wo&Men’s Wo&Men’s Healing & Empowerment Line Set up to answer calls for help from Men, women, Church & Community Why do we need Whel? To fulfil the commission to ‘...preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised’ Luke 4:18 •To lift up Christ our healer •To show love to those in and out of the church • To help those who are bruised and broken hearted. God knows us. He knows we can’t fly with broken wings.... The Bible is full of God’s promises to His children for help and for healing. He knows what we are going through ... and He knows what to do. How will Whel work? • This is a landline and Skype based telephone helpline service. • Whel needs volunteers to take the calls. This can be done from your home. (As long as you can access Skype). • You do not need experience or training, just a heart to help others and a few hours a week. • Training will be provided and the first part of the training is accredited by the Association of Christian Counsellors. • Training sessions run between March & August. We need you to... • Pray for this project and everyone involved in it. • Volunteer to take calls. • Support the ministry. We do not expect Government funding to pay for us to pray with people. We believe in prayer and so we have to pay for it ourselves. (We need donations starting at about the price of a loaf of bread per week. That’s about £1.00 per week). • Tell other people in your church about this project. • Contact us for more details on how you can volunteer and how to support this ministry. If you would like more information • Email us today on: info@whel.org.uk We are happy to come to your church to do a programme and share information about the project. Send an email to book a date.
