The Crucible project

The Crucible Summative Assessment.
You will act as if you are in the 1940-70s during the HUAC trials and your goal will be to call the public’s attention to the injustices
committed. In order to do this, you will need to show three parallels between the HUAC era and the Salem Witch Trials. Now in
order to persuade the public that these are actual parallels, you need to use evidence from The Crucible and from your non-fiction
research.
Choose your method to convey this:
 Letter to the editor
 News report: either in a newspaper article or in a video (if you do a video you must write a transcript).
 Press conference where you make a public service announcement (again, you need a transcript).
 BONUS: Political comic strip that shows HUAC propaganda.
Requirements
 Include three parallels in your method
 You must use two quotes from The Crucible and two quotes from your research over HUAC.
 Cite your quotes in text and include both The Crucible and your research article(s) in your works cited.
 Write with appropriate fluency, voice, grammar and spelling.
