Of Mice And Men
Of Mice And Men is mainly about two men named
George and Lennie who travel together looking for
jobs and take care of each other like if they were
brothers. This story mainly teaches you about about
friendship, loneliness and trust. It also gives you an
idea of how life on the ranch use to be back then.
George
George is one of the main characters in
the story Of Mice and Men. He is the one
that takes care of Lennie after his mom
and aunt died because that’s he had left to
take care of him. George is small, quick
and smart. He is also unselfish and caring
because he is always giving Lennie the
bigger part of his pie or all the ketchup.
He also cares about him because he
doesn’t let no one talk bad about him and
he knows how and when to stay out of
trouble.
Lennie
Lennie is a very big guy with no shape in
his face. He is also mentally ill that is why
George takes care of him so much. Lennie
is always traveling with George. He never
leaves anywhere without him except if it’s
somewhere unimportant. Lennie is a very
strong guy that does not know how to use
his strength. He loves petting soft things
like mice and rabbits but he is always
killing them because he pets them too
hard.
Candy
Candy is an old black man that works
at the ranch were George and Lennie
start to work at after they get kicked
out of Weed. He is also one of the
only two black men at the ranch. He
is also one of the janitors there too.
Nobody really talks to him because
he is black and also because of that
he doesn’t get to participate in
everything the men at the ranch do.
Slim
Slim is another character that lives
at the ranch that Lennie and George
go to work at. Slim is one of the
guys at the ranch that George trusts
other than Lennie and Candy. Slim is
like the cool guy in the book. He is
also tall like Lennie. He has dark
damped hair and is always wearing a
denim jacket with blue jeans. He is
also the skinner at the ranch.
Curley’s Wife
Curley’s wife is the only woman in
the book that we really get to know
in the book. She is always feeling
lonely and frustrated because no one
talks to her. They don’t talk to her
because of Curley. She is always
giving the eye to all the guys at the
ranch. She is also always pretending
to look for Curley because she wants
someone to talk to.
Curley
Curley is the son’s boss. He is also short
and a professional boxer. He is the only
one that has a wife in the book. He is also
always trying to start problems with guys
that are bigger than him. He wears a
black glove on his right hand full of
vaseline to keep it soft for his wife. Curley
gets in a fight with Lennie and Lennie
breaks his hand but whenever anyone
asks what happen he says he got his hand
caught in a machine.
Boss
The boss is a short chubby man that
wears spurs on his boots to show
that he is the top dog and that he
doesn’t have to do nothing. He is
strict and doesn’t tolerate very
much. He gets on Lennie because
George didn’t let him talk when he
was interrogating them. From then
on you don’t hear about him.
Stable Buck
Stable buck is another one of the only
black guys in the story. He is a janitor too.
He is good at playing horse shoes and he
has a crooked back. He lives inside the
barn where it smells like horse poo and
where all the horses are. He also feels
lonely because nobody talks to him
because he is black. Nobody goes in his
room except for Slim and later he
becomes friends with Lennie.
The End
The End of the story is very is very sad because
George kills Lennie. He kills him because Lennie
killed Curley’s wife by putting his hands over her
nose and mouth so she wouldn’t scream. Curley’s
wife was screaming because Lennie didn’t want
to let go of her hair. When everybody found out
that he had killed her they went on a lynch mob
to kill Lennie. George didn’t want that and he had
told Lennie if he ever did something wrong to go
hide in the brush were they had slept at the night
before they went to go get the job. So George
went to him before they found him. When he
found him he told him their dream story and told
him to turn around and then shot him in the back
of the head.
