HOUSING No. Exchange students are required to live on-campus, but housing is not guaranteed. There is a housing shortage in Denton so students should apply for housing as soon as they receive their official acceptance package with their EUID (a UNT user ID). Students are only able to live off campus in the event that no on-campus housing is available and would be responsible for securing it on their own. Is housing guaranteed? Students must adhere to all university housing deadlines regarding housing applications, deposits and fees. Most accommodations are double (2) bed rooms. Most students walk, ride a bike or use the university shuttle bus system. The university bus system is free and accessible to students for transport both on and off campus. City busses are also free with student ID. OTHER Students may register for courses after they receive their EUID (a UNT user ID) and password, which usually accompanies the acceptance letter. Further instructions are provided to students directly. Undergraduates register for a minimum of 12 credit hours and graduate level students register for a minimum of 9 credit hours. Starting with Fall 2015, incoming exchange students will have compulsory enrollment in the UNT health insurance plan for international students. For academic year 2014-15, the rates were $666/semester. Fees are due prior to the start of each semester and paid through the student’s UNT Student Account via their MyUNT portal (http://my.unt.edu).
