Dynamic Routing Protocols. (RIP)
RIP, OSPF and EIGRP are dynamic routing protocols we have done. Navigate to
http://bryphil.com/corporate/CCNA/Labs/PacketTracerFiles/ and download the lab files for RIP.
1. Configure RIP on all three routers.
2. Use the command “show ip route” and interpret the results. Careless about the connected
(denoted with a “C”) routes.
3. Your focus should be on the routes denoted as R.

Sample interpretation of a RIP route
Interpretation of Highlighted line: I know how to get to 10.1.32.0 with an
administrative distance of 120 and metric 1 through 192.168.10.1.
OR
If I need to send any packets to 10.1.32.0 network, I will do so by sending to
192.168.10.1

Interpretation of Highlighted line: I know how to get to 10.2.0.0 with an
administrative distance of 110 and metric 2 through 200.0.0.1
Interpretation of Highlighted line: I know how to get to 10.200.1.2 with an

If I need to send any packets to 10.2.0.0 network, I will do so by sending to

Interpretation of Highlighted line: I know how to get to 192.168.50.4 with an
administrative distance of 90 and metric 21024000 through 192.168.50.9 or
192.168.50.1 (only applies to the first route. Other two routes will be explained in class).
