Call to Order the Student Senate of the Student Government Association of Oklahoma State University Roll Call Swearing in of New Senators, Supreme Court Justices, and Executives: I, state your name, do solemnly affirm that I will discharge to the best of my ability, the responsibilities entrusted to me, as an officer of the Student Government Association of Oklahoma State University Pledge of Allegiance Guest Speakers and Student Concerns a. Steve Spradling- Director of Parking and Transportation – fall parking changes, he is an advocate for the students, many game day parking changes. 686 new spaces overall next spring and 200 spot parking garage by Student Union. 6 new AGA buses. Advisor’s Report – John Mark Executive Reports a. Alex Marianos- Big Event Director- a day of service to the community of Stillwater. Exec Apps are out on Campus Link. b. Colton Clark-Communications Director-Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to get the word out about what the different branches of SGA are involved in. c. Cowboy Cousins- 200 people got paired up last night, continue to stay up to date. d. Wyatt Shaw- first FRC meeting was a success, interested in volunteers to organize a mock senate. New Business a. F15BL008- A bill to provide co-sponsorship funds to Model United Nations OKSTATE i. Author Ex: Taylor- a mock U.N group, planning on having a conference at the end of October, but due to a lack of funding the date has been moved to Feb., needing money now to start planning and be prepared for this event. 1. Price question: Is this your first year as a recognized organization? a. No 2. Steadley: Are they allowed to use our funds in a semester that they did not request to originally use the funds in? a. Uncertain 3. Price motions to table the bill until next week’s senate-second Truong b. F15BL009- A bill to provide funds to the Society of Petroleum Engineers i. Author Ex: Stedley motions to table the bill until next week- Fanning seconds c. F15BL001 – A bill to amend the SGA Constitution i. Author Ex: Price- a bill making small grammatical amendments 1. Committee Chairs i. Budget – Jeremiah Taylor 1. Groups that are not recognized or registers will not receive funds from us 2. To split our funding per semester to keep better track of funding to even it out. a. Tinnin question- are we going to make an effort to help groups who can’t be funded by us? -It depends on the situation of their other funding resources ii. CSO – Andrew Steadley 1. Meeting with groups to receive more ideas about how to help the students. iii. Internal Affairs – Sarah Sauer 1. 3 pieces of legislation out of committee, title 9 is going to be further discussed so we can input long lasting changes iv.
