Assignment 1
My name is Kelly Fox and I'm a sophomore at Tennessee Technological
University. I'm very interested in a career in the field of marine biology. I have to
say that I've been interested in marine biology since I was in 9th grade or about
15. For a Contemporary Issues class that I had I was assigned a report on a
career that I didn't know much about. We were supposed to talk about how the
career field has changed in recent years and how to get into the career and
how much money you can earn. I admit I wasn't too happy with the amount of
money that you get but if I get to do something I love doing it will be worth it.
Anyways, I picked marine biology.
Marine biology is interesting because noone knows much about it. I
have always been an avid lover of dolphins and seals. I think the most
interested aspect of the career would be the job in general. I love the ocean and
a career near the ocean would make me happy. I hope that I can study dolphins
and seals but since I'm not that picky, I'd also love to study whales, sea lions,
and seahorses. I have to admit that I'm not really that interested in studying fish
and hope that I don't have to.
Assignment 2
If I were to join a club while receiving my education here at
TTU, I would join the marine biology club. Even though it seems as
if the marine biology club and the fisheries run into each other I still
would like to join it. Unfortunately, I don't have time to join a club
right now but as my education continues here I may make the time
to join the club. The marine biology club sounds the most
interesting even though it was the least discussed. Joining a club
however would be hard for me because I'm not much of a people
person but in the right environment I'm sure I could become more
of a people person.
