CAPITOLINE WOLF “THE FOUNDING OF ROME” Legend tells us when Numitor, grandfather of twins Romulus and Remus was overthrown by his brother Amulius, the usurper ordered the twins be cast into the Tiber river. They were rescued by a she-wolf who cared for them. They grew to be natural leaders, brought Numitor back to power and chose to found a new city, Rome.
