FCHS Swim and Dive

•Season Begins Monday, October 19th
•Practice 5 days a Week
•Meets occur either Friday night or Saturday. Please see the schedule on
the website for specific dates .
•State is February 4th-6th @ Georgia Tech Aquatic Center
•Practices will be held over holidays breaks
•Monday-Wednesday of Thanksgiving Break

out to the Booster Club and we will do an ‘all call’ to help.
Items to Bring:
Recommended equipment , CAP, GOGGLES, extra t-shirt, old sneakers,
towel, WATER BOTTLE
At the start of the season, each athlete will be required to read our team
handbook. They must sign that they have read and understand the
expectations set forth for our program. The handbook will be uploaded to
the website and by the end of the first week, ALL athletes will have to sign
that they and their parents have read over the information.

•Be a spectator at the meets (Who doesn’t love a good crowd?)
•Hold your athlete accountable
•Support the team in fundraising
•Support the team in food
•Promote a positive and supportive environment for your athlete
•Promote a healthy diet
•MAKE THEM GET OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING!
•Transportation will be provided to EVERY meet
outside of the county and all athletes are required to
ride.
•Transportation will be provided for meets that will
occur after school.
•Transportation will be provided M/W for afternoon
practice as a drop off.
•NO students may ride together in cars (FCSS policy)
•Athletes are expected to be at every practice as is scheduled.
•Attendance does effect lettering – this will be outlined in the handbook
•Special circumstances will be addressed directly with Coach Bell
•Absences from practice must be directly communicated to Coach Bell … NOT
through another swimmer
•Meet Attendance:
•Required.
•Failure to show up at a meet can result in immediate dismissal from the team
•Ample notice must be given to Coach Bell if you are not able to attend the meet
•This is outlined in the handbook
Club Swimmers must attend once a week. Weekly attendance sheets can be found on
the team website. They must be turned in to the coaches after the completion of a
week.
Diving – We are still adding in meets!

January 16thth – Forsyth Winter Invitational
January 24th – Forsyth County Championships

•A volunteer coordinator will be in contact with you
about signing up for meet volunteer
•We will co-host two meets this season and will need
‘all hands on deck’
•All parents are expected to volunteer
•Volunteering also includes food donations
•Hosting team gathering … Bonfire!! (Holiday parties
,etc. )
•Please see the attached document for payment of swim fees.

•Payment plans can be set up on an individual basis if needed.
•There will also be a fee supported fundraiser set up to begin
when the season starts for those who would like the
opportunity to have their athlete fundraiser their fees.

ALL TEAM MEMBERS are required to sell 10 cards ($10 a piece)
Swim and Dive-a-thon
On November 1st, we will run a swim/dive-a-thon at the CAC from 2:30 to
5:30pm. We are asking all athletes to participate.
Co-hosted Meets – We will split profit with WFHS on these meets
-All athletes will be required to wear FCHS gear at each meet. NO
EXCEPTIONS. You will be required to show up in uniform.
*Look the part/Act the part!!*
-Competition suit is REQUIRED.
-Competition suit is NOT allowed at practice. Please purchase a
different suit for practice purposes.
-Caps and goggles are required for practice and competition
-FCHS SWIM TEAM CAP is required for competition
