As of right now, I am enrolled as an English Education major, but I may change into elementary
education depending on what changes between now and the end of freshmen year. “The BSEd
in English Education is designed to prepare undergraduate teacher candidates for a certified
secondary school teaching position in the field of English, including the study of literature and
other texts, instruction in composition, and language study.” Integrating teaching, research, and
service opportunities, I will be able to have a personalized degree which interests me and suits
my career goals.
Although it is a four year program, UGA does offer a 5th year master’s program that I will most
likely complete. The first three years will be general education courses that tie to a field
experience in English education senior year.
