I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:


Identify the function of every parts of the plants.
Illustrate and recognize the parts of the plants.
II. MATERIALS:





PowerPoint presentation( picture of the plant and its parts, some information about the
plants, activities, game: http://urbanext.illinois.edu/gpe/case1/c1m1ccor.html )
Multimedia Projector
Manila paper
Marker
Flash cards (flash cards of letters for the spelling bee)
III. LESSON PROPER:
A. Activity:
“Spelling Bee”
The class will be divided into four groups. Each group will be given flash cards having
one letter each that they will use in “spelling bee” activity. Each group will spell the following
words: PLANT, ROOT, LEAF, STEM, and FLOWER. A group who will spell the word first,
will be given point and the group with highest point will be the winner.
B. Analysis:
“Parts of the Plants”
Presentation: Show a picture of plant parts(PowerPoint Presentation)
1. Root
- Roots act like straws absorbing water and minerals from the soil.
- The roots hold plants in place.
2. Stem
- The stem carries water from the roots to the leaves and other parts.
- It holds the leaves and flowers.
3. Leaves
- The leaves cook foods for the plants.
4. Flower
- Flowers are the reproductive part of most plants.
C. Abstraction:
Games: Answer the following questions about the Plant and its part.(

D. Application:
Draw a plant and name each parts.
