Medical Records Read Coder We are a busy GP practice caring for over 10,000 patients and are looking for a part time medical records read coder for 16 hours a week. There can be some flexibility over the times of day that these hours are worked but we need the post holder to come in over a minimum of 3 days. The post holder will need to be flexible over working occasional additional hours to maintain targets e.g. overtime may be required after annual leave to catch up on back log of work. This is an important post in the practice Admin team. The post holder will ensure patient records are correctly coded on our practice computer system which is currently INPS Vision. As well as dealing with incoming electronic patient records using GP to GP, there will also be paper patient notes and other patient correspondence that will need to be coded. Medical terminology knowledge is essential and an awareness of computer systems desirable. This post would be suitable for someone with previous experience of summarising patient notes or nursing qualifications. The salary for this post will depend on experience and qualifications.
