The statues are located on the south-westish side of the island. • • • Easter Island is located off the west coast of South America in the South Pacific Ocean. On Easter Island they speak Spanish. Easter Island is a province of Chile. • • • The people from Easter Island call it Rapa Nui. One of the most isolated islands in the world is Easter Island. Easter Island is one of the most famous yet least visited archaeological sites. • • • Jacob Roggeveen found it when he went to search the Southern Continent. The people who are involved are scientists and archaeologists. Scientists believe that the people starved to death because they cut down all the trees so they didn’t have any canoes to go get food The mystery lives in Easter Island. • The mystery has been alive since April 1722 (that’s 289 years) • The mystery of Easter Island is still yet to be approved by humans. • I believe that people used to live on Easter Island, That their gods wanted them to make the statues, and that they all died because they cut down all the trees so they didn’t have any canoes or coconuts.
