Questions/issues have arisen from faculty about the process and resulting decisions regarding the approval of alternative/substitute courses to meet doctoral research course requirements. It is unclear who makes the final decision about acceptable substitute/alternative courses, or the process used for the decision For doctoral programs in HDOSE, students are not presently able to get a Minor in REM because of graduate school rules about outside/external committee members for doctoral committee. Also what constitutes a minor/concentration in REM given that doctoral students already take 12 hours of required coursework to meet school/program research requirements. Will continue discussion next meeting. Other Business - None Meeting was adjourned at 4:01 pm 3
