NEVADA URBAN INDIANS, INC JOB ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION TITLE: STATUS: WAGE: LOCATION: POSTING PERIOD: Medical Business Manager Part Time – Non-Exempt (potential for Full Time) $27.08 - $38.54/hour DOE Reno June 15, 2015 – July 6, 2015 POSITION: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position is responsible for the coordination, operation, and oversight of NUI’s medical clinic and its business dealings. Ensures office is running smoothly by supervising, hiring, and training of medical staff. Oversees the medical billing and coding. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in business management or business administration, a bachelor’s degree is preferred, and 2 years of related work experience in a medical business setting. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must have fingerprints taken and complete a criminal background check with satisfactory results, the cost paid by the employee. Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening with satisfactory results, the cost paid by the employee. Employment with NUI is contingent upon satisfactory results of background check and drug screen. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is performed in a standard medical office environment. May require sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods of time; moderate or light lifting of objects up to 25 pounds; dexterity in use of hands and fingers in times of extended use of a computer keyboard in data entry and/or repetitive correspondence or documents; exposure to computer screens. Use of modern office equipment, including but not limited to: telephone, computers, printers, scanners, calculators, photocopiers, facsimile and postage machines, recorders, etc. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: duties and responsibilities may include, but not limited to, the following: Assess medical staff performance Oversee billing, coding, collections and deposits Understanding the financial background of the office Reconcile account information Know due dates and turn in reports on a timely basis Order medical and office supplies Generate inventory records Ensure medical education pamphlets and brochures are appropriate and available Marketing and handling of public relations Maintain an appropriate medical office environment Develop and implement policies and procedures for the clinic Assist with coordination and planning of organizational events Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of: Effective customer and personal service practices and telephone etiquette; standard office procedures, practices and methods; principles and procedures of filing and/or record keeping; work processing software; data entry techniques; English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Skill in: Giving full attention to what people are saying, taking time to understand the concerns and asking questions as appropriate; talking to patients to convey information effectively; teaching others how to do something; managing one’s own time and the time of others; communicating effectively in writing as appropriate; use of a computer and various software programs and the use of various office equipment.
