Computrace by Absolute Software, a Gartner Visionary
Vendor (MQ 2012) is the global leader in persistent security
and management solutions allowing organizations to
optimize productivity, secure all of their mobile endpoints
within a single cloud-based console, reduce operating costs,
prove IT compliance processes, and respond to computer
theft.
HP has a strategic global partnership with Absolute
Software and has worked directly to add the Computrace
Persistence Module to the BIOS of many HP commercial
notebook and tablet PCs, including the 4340s, 2570p and
9470p.

Disposal Services
HP is pleased to offer our Asset Recovery Services to DEECD to assist
with disposal now of any existing assets which are to be replaced and
also into the future as new assets are eventually replaced. HP’s service
can accommodate any type of IT asset including notebooks and any
brand or IT equipment.
The HP service makes disposal simpler, efficient and effective for
DEECD while minimising risks related to older IT assets and provides:

a complete solution covering processes at the end of the asset
lifecycle

improved governance through control of assets at end of service
life.


HP’s Asset Recovery Service features include:






pack and ship services to get DEECD equipment offsite to an HP
Processing facility
inventory audit and testing of all participating IT assets
HP wipes all hard drives using a 3-pass overwrite and I pass
verify and removes all identifiers
technically obsolete and non-functional equipment will be
recycled while equipment with value is tested and resold.
all recycling will be performed in compliance with all applicable
local, state and federal regulations
HP will issue a detailed settlement report which identifies the
make, model, serial number and asset tag (if present) of each
serialised asset, final disposition of the equipment (remarket or
recycle), and the associated resale proceeds and service fees.
Pricing Schedule
The pricing structure for the HP Asset Recovery solution is a Revenue Share
model. Under this model, a percentage share of any resale proceeds available
will the paid to DEECD and a fee will be charged for every serialised asset to
cover HP’s processing and transportation costs. The fee schedule is attached
below.
Pack & Ship Fee
HP will custom quote each event prior to the pick-up upon receipt of the pickup
request form from DEECD and based on the equipment type, quantity, location
and ship only vs pack & ship requirement.
Processing Fee
Per serialised asset. Includes: product audit, drive wiping, remarketing
activities, recycling for non-remarketable products, and Reporting




HP will remarket any saleable assets based on the current fair market
value set by regional supply and demand and the condition and quality
of the assets. HP will split the proceeds from the sale of the equipment

UPGRADE COMPONENT
with DEECD on a 70/30 split where DEECD will receive 70% of HP’s
remarketing proceeds of whole units as well as subassemblies/components. By maximising DEECD’s proceeds, HP
maximises our proceeds. This program will provide transparency and
allow DEECD to fully understand the value of its equipment and to
measure and assess the results from sales in the secondary market.

Any non-functional or technically obsolete systems will be recycled at
no additional cost
HP will issue invoices for services fees (processing and logistics as required)
and payments for remarketing proceeds following each pickup or at an agreed
schedule.
Accidental Damage Protection
Avoid out-of-pocket repair or replacement costs and benefit
from piece of mind when the unexpected happens to your
hardware. Accidental damage is defined as physical damage
to a product caused by, or resulting from, a sudden and
unforeseen incident, provided such damage occurs in the
course of regular use. Covered perils include non-intentional
liquid spills in or on the unit, drops, falls, and electrical
surge, as well as damaged or broken liquid crystal displays
(LCDs) and broken parts. Exclusions apply, and does not
cover theft, fire, and normal wear and tear.

downgrade of the processor, memory, hard disk drive, video card, etc.
