Example Band 1 Situation
“When looking for a mobile phone on the internet I can read reviews from other
customers who already own the phones and find out which one suits my needs the best.
People I know may not have a wide range of phones so getting review without the
internet maybe difficult. Online, there are also detailed descriptions of the features of
each phone and some sites even have comparison charts and even videos to help me
decide which is the best one. The reviews online are better than going to a shop as sales
people can be biased and could try to sell me phones they want rid of rather than one I
want. Once I have found a phone online, price comparison websites can then be used to
help me save money and get the best deal, as they take prices from a range of stores
and present the information in a form which is easy to compare deals. If I did not have
access to this electronic information I would have to go around lots of shops – also not
all of the shops online are in my local area. By using a price comparison website I have
access to far more information than is available to me in my towns shopping area. I have
also seen videos showing me how the phone works so I wouldn’t have to read the
instruction manual - videos are also easier to learn from in my opinion and often show
short cuts which users find out and extra hints and tips that are not in the manual”.
