What is RYLA?
• Rotary's leadership training program for
young adults that is offered by districts
around the world.
• RYLA’s main emphases are:
1. Leadership
2. Citizenship
3. Personal Growth

• Internationally, every RYLA shares the
following program objectives:
1. To demonstrate Rotary’s respect and concern
for youth
2. To providing youth with a valuable training
experience to encourage and assist young
people in responsible and effective voluntary
youth leadership
3. To foster continued and stronger leadership of
youth by youth
4. To publicly recognize the many young people
who are rendering service to their communities
as youth leaders
Our Purpose
• Provide an experiential learning
program for 10th and 11th graders in
District 5150:
Leadership, teamwork, communication, skill
assessment, and goal setting techniques
o Education and career path development
o Business planning and presentation skills
o Diverse, team-centered environment
o Overnight experience away from home
o
Program Highlights
• Sponsored by Rotary Clubs in District 5150
• All expenses-paid for students - including food,
lodging, instruction and fun
• 3 Day Camp - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Training in leadership, communication, business,
and life skills
• Build relationships with Rotary and
Rotaract counselors and volunteers
• Opportunity for youth to interact and bond with
students from different schools, interests, cultures,
and socio-economic backgrounds
• Scholarship for two exceptional students

experiences,
current
triumphs and
struggles, and
future dreams.

• Including student sponsorship &
contributions toward programs

• Mix of Rotaractor & Rotarians T.A.s (20 - 24)
How Can You and Your
Club Support RYLA?
• Invest in Students: Financial Support
• Sponsor students ($350 per student)
• Secure business sponsorships for RYLA
• Send funds to contribute towards general program
costs or scholarships
• Make checks to: Rotary Club of San Francisco Rotary Service, Inc.

• As a Club
• Identify a RYLA liaison in your club to coordinate
efforts
• Volunteer to help plan and/or participate in camp
• Identify and encourage future-minded 10th - 11th
grade students with leadership potential in your area
to apply online
• Honor RYLA campers at your meeting after camp
