Full Benefits Package REPORTS TO: Family Justice Center Program Coordinator HOURS: Full time 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:30-5 Mon-Fri The Family Support Center of South Sound is seeking to fill the position of Bilingual Community Based Advocate for the Thurston County Family Justice Center (TCFJC) program. The TCFJC is a multiagency, multi-disciplinary resource center designed to provide comprehensive, coordinated, and colocated services to individuals and families who are affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and/or human trafficking. Under leadership of the four main partners; Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, Thurston County Clerk’s Office, Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s office and the Family Support Center of South Sound, the TCFJC program co-locates non-profit and government agencies in an effort to develop strong, collaborative relationships which support improved outcomes for survivors and their children. The Bilingual Community Based Advocate will provide confidential advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and dating violence. This position will support survivors in accessing comprehensive, coordinated resources in one location including but not limited to mobile and site based advocacy to deliver safety planning, shelter/housing, transportation, outreach, childcare, resource & referral, legal advocacy, interpretation/translation, and other services onsite and from partner agencies, including assisting survivors with Protection Orders. This position will focus on providing specialized services to military service members, veterans, and dependents, as well as Spanish speaking survivors. . Primary Responsibilities: Complete needs assessments and intake paperwork with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking Provide immediate crisis intervention and safety planning to support survivors in increasing their personal safety and ensure the survivors and their family members immediate basic needs are met. Educate survivors on the resources, services, programs, and benefits that are available to them, and assist in enrolling/connecting clients to the appropriate services/programs. Directly support military affiliated survivors in navigating civilian and military services, programs, and resources. Facilitate survivor’s usage of the domestic violence protection order kiosk. Ensure documents are filed and received by the Thurston County Clerk’s office by the deadlines for submission. Attend court hearings alongside survivors to provide emotional support, information, and legal advocacy as needed. They must possess a strong sense of accountability, commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and strict confidentiality. Successful applicant will demonstrate cultural competency skills and an ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both Spanish and English. Successful applicant must have an insured personal vehicle and be willing to travel locally and regionally as well as attend national trainings as required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the Family Justice Center movement and a strong commitment to promoting its core values and principals. Preference will be given to applicants who have specific experience and knowledge of local systems and resources related to serving clients who are affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, staking and human trafficking and those who have specialty experience serving military veterans/dependents, tribal services and other culturally diverse and/or special need populations. Ideal candidate will be confident in utilizing comprehensive client service data base systems such as Apricot, Efforts to Outcomes, or the like.
